C32 New 18" rims & SL55 intake - Car Feels Slower?
So I just fitted new rims and the full SL55 intake set-up with k&n inserts
Driving the car now it doesn't "feel" as quick as it did with the standard intake and 17's
Could it be the larger intake looses some low end torque?
Or just the bigger wheels rob some acceleration?

hm, wheels could be making a little difference barely noticiblem, can't you do a reset on the car? if you really want to know if you slowed your car down change the intake to stock

EDIT: Just noticed you have a C32, I can't speak to the need for adaptation for a F/I setup as mine is N/A

Doubt it, as soon as I installed my Renntech intake the increase in power was instantly noticeable. Not saying there isn't some adaptation that needs to occur but there should be an increase noticed immediately and then the adaptation would make MORE power.
EDIT: Just noticed you have a C32, I can't speak to the need for adaptation for a F/I setup as mine is N/A

Most def the wheels if they are appreciably heavier. One of the reasons I gave up my 19's even though I LOVED the way they looked. They just rode too hard for a Mercedes IMO and made the car feel really slow.
I went back to OEM and felt like a rocket again. But I just picked up some OEM C55 wheels and gonna try 18's, but I think they weigh just slightly more.

I LOVE the C55 wheels but couldn't find any in the UK.
Car still feels awesome but just seems to have lost a bit of Punch!
I don't think the SL55 set-up made a difference...but it's bigger so must be breathing better.

I went with SL55/K&N setup on mine and went up 10hp on dyno (dynamics dyno befor eand after intake)...beleive I got more as with intakes you don't get the power until you are moving and the fans they throw in front of the car during dyno session can't replicate higher speeds.
I am sure it is your wheels, seen that played out on many platforms I've owned...Imore rotational mass has a good impact on acceleration....assuming the new wheels are appreciably heavier

LMs FTMFW. I thought I had gotten over my LM fixation and decided that I would eventually go with a set of Forgestar F14s. But now I'm going back on that and I think I will just plump for a set of LMs (eventually). Probably from VRwheels.com, you can get a decent set in 18" for about $2k, then they charge $150 or so to redrill from 5x114.3 to 5x112. Lots more selection at 5x114.3.
