Wow, I was on the fence about the door sills b/c I thought they were still blue and I wanted red lol. Your ride is looking NICE!

How difficult was the mirror mod? Thought about that as well...

door sills are great and easy. The mirror mod was also easy. Just undo the inner door liner, unbolt the mirror, connect the new wires and bolt on the new mirror guts. Slide on mirror cover and voila!

feel free to come by this weekend bro. I'm gonna be dropping my driver side rear to adjust my spring to hopefully fix the fact that its sitting 1/2" lower than my passenger side causing it to rub when even a child is sitting on the passenger side in the rear! lol

maverik, how did you figure out the VCS setup? Read on another thread you couldn't get it to work. Installed mine into the MOST setup. So far all devices on the loop work except the VCS. My car has the COMAND, TELE, HK and TeleAid setup (I removed the Satellite radio from the loop since I don't use it)

still haven't gotten it work on my system. But after talking with another buddy who does my coding we think it might be due to the fact that I have the midcityengineering iTronic for ipod and bluetooth in the MOST. So we think that may be interfering with the VCS with respect to activating the mic's in the rear view mirror. I've been meaning to email them about it but haven't gotten around to it.

Hmm, well my HU recognizes that it's in the MOST loop by going into engineering mode and listing the devices. It's also in the order that it should be in. The unit I got was from a w211 which I hear are interchangeable but I could have received a defective one. Pulling on the stalk does nothing at all. even tried plugging the microphone connectors and get nothing but static.

My first go around with the install I had the same symptoms. I had the wrong unit, it turned out. Swapped it to the correct W203 part and it works great.

wow its apparently been awhile since I've updated this...well lets see if I can remember what I've done since...

Oh well I've added an OEM h/k system with integrated back-up camera modification from a fellow member, the physical condition isn't quite as nice and pristine as my existing one but to have a reverse camera again it was worth it to me....maybe I'll figure out how to swap the fascia in the future.

Also reinstalled my 19" TSW Snettertons. Had to add spacers all around this time due to the 6/4 pot caliper set up and i am currently having some rubbing issues on the rear driver side to the point where I dont want people riding in the back of my car but oh well. I'll find a place that can roll fenders soon I hope.

I also bought the MHP thermostat a few weeks ago. Still awaiting install at the moment as I just got my new mityvac in (last one was leaking at the seal) so i should be pulling the coolant out this weekend.

Oh and the best part is my new CLK63 bumper w/ parktronic and washers came in today! Now to find a GOOD body shop around here to paint and install it for me.

MB of Medford cuz they're the closest discount parts dealer to cali. But i originally had the order in at MB of Atlanta when I was in VaBeach still. Medfod also had a deal for free freight shipping 2 weeks ago so I got it for just the cost of the bumper

just ordered the front sensors and inital harness that connects to them so that I can give them all to body shop that i have yet to select to install after painting. This way I can save some inital cash and work on getting the rear bumper trim and sensors (preferrably used). Plus I'll be able to easily connect the wire harness behind the bumper to the connector that will run from the engine bay through the firewall without removing the bumper!

So my right mirror turn signal warning started going off again about 2 weeks ago after almost 6 months of no problems since I put on the arrow style mirro covers. Wasn't keeping my ECU on and draining my battery like before but then i go on a trip for 4 days, come back and my car is completely dead...

Absolutely over this electrical gremlin since I've replaced the harness by adding folding mirrors and replaced the actually turn signal itself, so i took it to the dealer to have them find what was killing my battery and solve this warning...

needless to say they are blaming the battery issue on my midcityengineering remote starter saying its doing it (despite the fact that i hadn't had it installed when this all started the first time)...but ok i got them to at least try and look at the turn signal part....

needless to say that backfired because the foreman and tech dont want to mess with all the aftermarket stuff (ie the folding mirrors), at which point i tell my rep they're OEM (and i fibbed here) installed by a MB dealer back in VA!

THen he calls me back and says ya they still dont wanna touch it because it didn't come with the car and thus they dont have "specs" for it and cant trace it down...i then told him that since the problem existed before i had all of this stuff to go ahead and started TS beyond the harness that is in the housing and start at the door module and go from there. Well that got no where and i had to come pick the car up. I told him i would put back on the old non-folding style fixtures and then would they take a look at it? Oh why yes, he says...

MMHMM, ya we'll see about that!

Aint that the truth. I wish I knew of one in the Ventura area! I had one in Virginia although they were hit or miss sometimes with being more like a dealer service center than an independant one. Like they wouldn't do suspension work (although I think a lot of that had to do with the alignment machine in which they didnt have)...

In other news I am about 90% complete with all the parts for my bumper. Still need to get a few minor things like the wheel well liners and some clips etc. I'm mostly waiting to order those because I should be able to reuse a lot of them from my old bumper once I take it off. IDK we'll have to see.

I'm also retrofitting some HELLA 90mm projectors to go in there to replace the useless fogs. Just gonna fab up those brackets this weekend and hopefully get the bumper out to paint next week!
