C32 custom exhaust
Hey guys,
So I've been contemplating what I want to do with my 2003 C32 amg's exhaust system, and this is what I've come up with...I want to delete the secondary cats, run dual 3" pipes back to two glasspacks (one on each pipe) in place of the resonator, then straight back to a 3" dual in/dual out muffler. Has anyone ran anything like this before? I think it's going to sound great, what are your guys thought?

I have the exact setup you mention, minus the glasspacks. I have a resonated x pipe muffler in place. Let me tell you, it is loud! But it sounds really good. I've yet to hear one person say it sounds bad. I was actually looking for ways to quiet it down. Which one is quieter? Glass packs or X-pipe muffler? By the way, I have 2 3/4 inch pipe.

I believe the glasspacks will quiet it down a little more than your x-pipe muffler because I will have one on each pipe, and a muffler in the back. I want to run 3" piping with this set up because I think it will gives me maximum flow and still create enough back pressure. Im hoping the glasspacks and whatnot keep it to a civilized tone lol. When I delete the second cats is it going to trigger a CEL or cause any issues?

Just got back from the shop and there is no way I am going to able to fit two 3" pipes under there, so I think I'm going to take it down to either dual 2.25" or 2.5" pipes. Should still sound great, and maybe this way I won't loose any low end torque. It's going in Saturday morning so we'll see.
