as much as i'd like this car to be worth more, it is not.....I would offer him $15k since it only has about 41,000 mi. i think thats a fair offer. also ask him if the IC pump has been replaced and what type of radiator is on the car.

Most common failures are IC pump and IC failure. IC pump is cheap ($150) but Intercooler almost $1000 just for the part and they're known to fail starting around 50K miles. Ask me how I know.
Also make sure belt and all pulleys/bearings are good. Had a crank pulley fail, harmonic balancer went kaput. I was lucky as it was replaced before the belt flew off.
They also like to throw engine codes, especially vacuum (fuel tank vapors or faulty gas cap).
As was already said.......the radiator can be an issue for 02's and early 03's. They could leak causing trans fluid to get contaminated. Have a glycol test done on the trans fluid.
Lastly........I'll bet the bottom seat heaters are broken (your butt, not back). If not they will be soon. Almost everyone I know who has a C32 has this issue and even when replaced they seem to go again.
You'll have peace of mind by checking these items first. Great car, I love mine more today than when I purchased it but it's not a Honda. Best of luck
