For those with Kleemann superchargers ( eatons ), how much boost do you see?

I finally finished my friends C55 AMG. He has Kleeman headers with a complete dual exhaust, X-pipe and no cats. I just finished installing a kleeman supercharger ( eaton model ) and I see 4.5psi -5psi. Does this sound right? I expect the freer flowing exhaust to lower the boost but didn't know what to expect since I don't know how much this kit is supposed to put out anyways.

Anyways, where can I get pullies to raise the boost?

Thats about right with a stock Kleemann system, it's around 5-6 PSI, With a Modified one (smaller pulley and a few other little things) you will see around 8-11 PSI (Autorotor), Any more than that you will damage the piston.

I'm at 8-9psi with my eaton. Smaller pulley, ported heads.
Sounds like a beast.

Good to know.

Where do you buy smaller pulleys?

The car still needs to be tuned. It drives great but has startup problemas and runs ultra rich at WOT ( low 10's/high 9's ). Timing is slightly low as well ( 12* or so ) but at least it's safe...lol.

I was running 7psi with AMS shorty headers and the stock primary cats still in place. I'm fixing to send my ECM to Kleemann for the tune and I'll put 150 or so miles on it to relearn everything and get it dynoed again and check the boost again, I expect it to be lower. I meant to ask Brandon what it should be at when I was on the phone with him today. With the headers on and no tune, I was running 12.x AFR under boost when I put the AFR gauge in Saturday (I took it back out after the test drive).

Do you know what size pulley you're running?

A few months back I called Eurocharged about a new pulley, but they had no idea what I was talking about. I think Kleemann sells different pulleys too. Since we use an Eaton M112 I'm wondering if other tuners offer a compatible pulley (i.e. Cobra Mustangs, F150 Lightning). When I google "M112 Pulley", I get lots of hits.

Looking at pictures on Google, the snout looks different than most of the Ford applications.

I would talk to Cory @ Kleemann in CO. He will know where to get the pulley.
I believe mine was custom machined.
I see 8/9psi right away in the low RPM range.

I was thinking 8 PSI should be safe. Do any of you have "upgraded" head gaskets?

8psi would be perfect. Cory says he sells a 2.6" pulley ( stock is 2.8 apparently ) but that to get the 8psi he thinks I will need something custom.

Ya Kleemann (The Company ) Doesn't really like to add a smaller Pulley to there system as its a modification that they can't really guarantee . Also where you near the 9-11 PSI mark, with our 11:1 Compression ratio, the Piston becomes a factor due to detonation. Its just a small risk factor, Our AMG motors a tough however With that in Mind, Before I went to a smaller pulley, I changed out my bottom end (Custom Pistons) to ensure reliability at those Pressures.

Kleeman has a 2.6" pulley ( the one installed is 2.8" ) so I'm just going to go with that and see how far I can take the car before we go any further.

I talked to Cory today and he said the C55 system should have a 2.6" pulley. He also said we wouldn't want that much boost with the compression ratio.

I "had" to add the smaller pulley to my car with the ported heads..... I was only seeing 4.5psi of boost with the stock pulley...... I"m @ 8/9 now.

I'm not sure how the PTE cams affect dynamic compression ratio... if any.

GL.

If I goes Weistec.... I'll be talking to Black Benz for a new shortblock with sleeves.... new rotating assy...... new set of p/p heads...... custom trans.... custom rear diff...... new tq convertor...... new tune...... AHHHHHH list goes on.

How much do the PTE cams run? I meant to ask Cory how much the Kleemann cams were when I was on the phone with him earlier and I forgot.

My system wasn't from a C55 originally, it came of a clk55.

The C55 and CLK55 have the exact same engine. 11.0:1 compression.

I was talking about the pulley size. Cory said mine was a 2.8" pulley by the picture I sent him. I also measured it yesterday.

I have a regular 5.0 M113 with a 10:1 CR and 6200 RPM Redline hitting 400RWHP, I wonder if the 2.6" will work for me? I'll make sure to hit up Cory about it.

First of all, pullies are hard to find. Most will have to be custom machined to be had and its not cheap. My Autorotor runs 5-5.5 on the stock Kleemann pulley ( I think this is where Cory and Kleemann USA feel its best and more importantly, safe!!) and now run 7-8.0 on the smaller (modded pulley). I saw 35-40 more RWHP on the dyno with the smaller pulley and that's running the stock MAF the C55 has.

I do agree that anymore than about 10-11 (on stock 5.4 litre) and you'll prolly grenade the engine.

What kind of dyno (brand) and do you have a sheet to post as those are very big numbers for your mods on the 5.0. I remember Mike's (Alumar) 5.4 C55 with Kleemann package) car only hitting 370 RWHP (Kleemann Autorotor) on Chicago Performance's dyno.

Also, what are your posted qtr mile times??? At that HP, you ought to be in low 12s at 115-120???

I am running 8.0 psi now courtesy of another forum member (from a stock Kleemann 5.0 psi) and it really woke my car up. I believe it did the same (same pulley) as Alumars.
