New C55 AMG and new to MB.
Just want to introduce myself. I out to NYC a couple of weeks ago and picked up a 2005 C55 out of CT and drove it home. It is blk/blk with aluminum trim, 64000k, NAV, HID and Premium package.
I just have a quick pic now but I will get some more when the weather gets nicer. My wife and I have our first road trip planned of the season to drive the Bourbon Trail in KY.
I am switching over from BMW, I had a E46 328i 5speed, and am very excited to have something a lot more unique. I have only seen one C55 on the road and that was about six months ago in DC.
I will end by saying thank you. The information on this forum made my purchase a lot easier. I am really surprised how much information is available here, specifically for the C55, since there are so few people with one. A lot different than the E46 M3 forum.
One question... in PA we don't need a front plate but they did in CT. Thoughts on best practice to fill in the holes and clean up the scratches the bumper plate made?

I'm sure someone here can help you with the bumper issue. Enjoy and post some additional pics!

I too live in a jurisdiction (Alberta, Canada) that doesn't require a front plate. I didn't think there were that many. I love it as the front plates really spoil the lines on a lot of cars - my S2000 is a prime example.
That said, I've never filled my front bumpers before on cars that originally came from other provinces. On my wife's Land Rover, we simply kept the front plate holder and inserted a factory accessory vanity plate that has the Rover badge. I think also that some OE accessory bumper plugs may be available but you have to look. I actually think Honda has these, some of the S2000 guys have them.
If not, try heading to the auto parts store. The odds and ends by band name 'Help!' might have something suitable. Then buy some factory touch up paint, spend a couple minutes and you're done!

yeah not having to deal with a front plate is awesome. My brother-in-law has a S2000 out of New York (they require front plates) and my neighbor has one a couple houses away. They almost look like different cars from the front.

I'm having the opposite issue with you about the bumper plates. In VA I have to have a front plate and I don't want to drill into the bumper so I'm thinking about getting a tow hook plate holder. This past week alone I think I've already spent $1107 in upgrade parts such as a bluetooth kit, 2012 nav disc, digital climate control, etc. I can't stop!
