Anyone tried liqui moly oil
Reason why ask, I also have an 06' BMW M5 v10, and was on M5board and came across alot of peaple saying good stuff about it, like the VANOS pump being much quieter, and the engine having less oil consumption. My c32 is up for it's oil change and was considering giving it a try, but kicking Mobil1 to the curb would be like cheating on my wife.

I have been running it a couple of times the "Leichtlaut high tech one", at moment have the Liqui M 10w-60 in my car. I prefer Penrite 0w 40 to be honset and will be using that again next. If the Mobil 1 didnt cost me $215 in oil alone I would be sticking to that.

Wow $215 for Mobil 1 is realy high, here in Virginia at Advance Auto Part its$9.50 a quart, I can't blame you for trying another brand.

My bad: its $190.
I let my warm up for a couple of minutes (I can remember a thread about that which had conflicting opinions) I then run my car like a grandpa until the engine is warm. It doesn't stubble or make any noises that I haven't heard before. It runs well. I drive it quite hard.
I honestly cant tell the difference between Liqui M and Mobil 1. I ran the Bimmers M choice- Caltex Syntec 10w 60 before this change (Liqui M) that was the first time running 10w60:the reasoning was simple- it was 35% off retail price. I guess I am wearing the engine components faster than designed for but in regards to the feeling -it didn't feel any different. Going back to 5-40w Penrite or Caltex Syntec forthcoming change as it is the Australian climate. Hense the reason preferring Penrite. Slightly bias : http://www.penriteoil.com.au/product...&id_products=1

As long as they are approved AMG spec oil, you should be fine.. Personally, I just change oil as often as possible... Thus, Mobil 1 is a lot more suitable and economical than other high end brand oil...
