Does this look right? I'm new to coilovers

I have been fixing this car up as a lot of the work the PO did/had done was not done correctly. I was looking at the strut mounts and noticed a gap. This does not seem right to me.

What do you think?

That doesn't look right to me either. What kind of coilovers are on the car?

correct. i can confirm too. it's not meant to touch for flexing. the top of the boot is connected to the car so its fine.
