Holy heat Batman!!! You guys ever see this?

So first off......I'm happy again........poor but happy. Got my trans issue fixed and I am in love with my C32 again. Had a lot done, many items were preventive since the trans was out. Mind you there was no glycol contamination but my TC was bad and my early 03 build date probably has the Valeo rad that will fail. I replaced the Torque converter, TCC Solenoid, conductor plate, did trans flush/filter, radiator (behr), motor/trans mounts and finally had my EC Shorty headers installed. Good news is that the trans pan was clean of metal.....even the magnet was clean of any metal.

Here is what shocked me and my mechanic.........he's never seen this. Here are my old motor mounts. Any of you ever seen this? The exhaust/cats must have gotten really hot at one time. I did replaced my IC which was leaking about a year ago which I know can effect cats among many other things. Thoughts?

That is just the thin rubber cover, the new motor mounts I bought didnt even come with it, I did use my old ones and they did have a little brown chared spots on them like yours but wasn't melted like that ..

Right......but I am surprised at the heat it would have taken to do that....especially with the shields in place. Looks like my C32 saw healthy track day before my ownership.

Would make sense but the exhaust was bone stock with stock EM and showed no sign of every having been touched. We dropped the entire exhaust to get the headers on. I have no idea what caused it.
