Eurocharged vs Renntech Tune - Any difference?
My only mods are the Renntech airbox and Renntech headers with no other mods planned. All cats and resonators are still in place.
Are there any advantages in going with either one or the other? Are there any real differences between the 2? I know this is similar to the Rolex vs Timex analogy, they both tell the same time, but the value and workmanship are what set eachother apart.
Eurocharged is only 1/3 of the price, but seems every bit as good. Renntech spent hundreds of hours writing their own software for their tune and even MB does not void warranties by installing Renntech parts, so that speaks of the quality of their products. There does not seem to be anyone on this board that uses the Renntech tune, so it's hard to gauge the type of gains and impact their tune has for the C55.
Thoughts anyone?

Where did you get your Renntech headers if you don't mind me asking?
As for ".... MB does not void warranties by installing Renntech parts"...........I'm not sure I would want to put this to the test.

For the above statement, I have an email from a Renntech associate that made the claim.

I'm kind of leaning towards the Eurocharged because I can't find enough reasons to pay 3x more for the Renntech tune.
For those that have the EC tune, how does it idle? How is the drivability? Any idle hunting or abnormal idle? I've had too many bad experiences with supposedly great tuners (for other makes) that now I am a bit weary of going with an aftermarket tune.

I have Kleemann software. As long as you stick to "the big ones", you should
be good and safe. The difference between them can´t be more than fractional.
Klee´s software is the same with or without their headers, the car adapts.
What you feel after a tune is primary a different throttleresponse (the pedal
is much more sensitive)and engine a bit stronger at mid and high revs.
The car feels more responsative in dayly driving, more fun and controlable.
The difference with/without a tune should NOT be exaggerated, we´re talking
n/a, but worth it big time for a better feel of the car in my view.
We´re talking 15-20 hp without headers and 45 approx with Klee´s mid headers with their software downloaded.
Remember: The physical restraints are in order:
a. OEM headers
b. OEM primary cats
c. OEM airbox.
If living in US, I´d bought Klee´s or EC´s software.
At idle you can´t feel if the car has a tune or not.

Eurocharged Performance ML63 and TT lambo
Renntech does in fact void the warranty and if an MB dealer is installing tunes from them they could be up for some serious and I mean serious penalties...

LOl, any aftermarket tune will void your warranty. If you have a tuner or dealer telling you that an aftermarket tune will not void the manufacturers warranty or even an aftermarket warranty tell them to put it in writing. Besides, I am not aware of any C32 or C55 that would still be covered under the manufacturers warranty.
...and your Rolex vs Timex analogy is not accurate, Renntech is no Rolex and Eurocharged is definitely no Timex....actually I guess Renntech could be considered a Rolex since Rolex are overpriced garbage. No contest in this one, Eurocharged all the way.

Straight from a Renntech product specialist via email "RENNtech is the only brand that many Mercedesdealers will sell and still warranty"
I guess this guy is seriously misguided and in for some deep trouble making that claim
