2005 AMG C55 RADIO CUTS OUT
I'm not sure what the problem is. Since my car was very close to a lightning strike I have had very weird Electrical issues....they come and they go. My radio now has a problem...it cuts in and out on volume with no control from me. Sometime the radio is on...but I hear almost nothing and then it comes back to life.
Thoughts anyone? Should I get a new stereo ...speakers..seam to work when the volume comes to life.
Anything I should look at?
Thanks:

Same here on my 04 C32. It does not happen that often (maybe twice a year), so I have just ignored it. I was wondering if anyone else had the problem.

I have this problem with my C55. I have no audio. One day it was raining heavily and my speakers started making really loud popping sounds then I completely lost all my audio. Its been about 2 months now with no audio!
Any advice on how to fix this? Can the amp be repaired or does it need to be replaced? If it needs to be replaced, any idea on the prices for these amps?
Any help is much appreciated folks!

New is not cheap!
I'm unaware if they can be rebuilt, but you can always search the non-AMG W203 section, should be the same amp.
Used is...well, used. Pay your money, roll the dice.
One from a C55 is for sale now in the classifieds...

Probably the amp as other suggested mine was quirky as well but it would sort itself out on it's own after a power cycle. You can probably get it repaired via www.fastoem.com my navi processor went out and they gave me a rebuilt one for 250

Hi on my C55, I experience the same problem. However, it seems to be caused by the bluetooth integration module or MOST loop rather than the amp. I have the harmon/kardon Logic 7.1 Comand and an iTronic blue tooth module hookup behind it. Insurance wouldn't replace the amp to fix the problem but, after making me pay to update the command software, the Ins. Co. replaced the head unit with a new OEM Logic 7.1 Comand. After that the problem happened less often, but when it did, the command displayed "phone not connected" for a brief second. This happened after my phone and contacts had already been connected to the MB system through the iTronic bluetooth module and the phone stays connected after the message. I can only conclude that something is wrong with the iTronic, its integration with the MB system or something is loose in the MOST ring. I have never lost a call, but my CD, Ipod and Radio cut out for a 2-5 seconds every once and a while. Annoying, but not fatal. Not sure I can ever get this fixed. Ideas?

That may do it but is not worth the hundreds of dollars to scrap my old system and replace it -- if the OE parts can even be found. I can live with the occasional 2 or 3 seconds of silence. Just posting to let people know that other parts of the MOST ring, besides the amp, may cause this problem.

I have the same problem with my iTronic system. It is the Bluetooth in the iTronic that is causing your problem. You have to buy the new digital system from iTronic.
