Wavetrac
Thanks in advance
The C32 is a difficult one. There are two different differentials. One has bolt on axles, one without and the install and additional required parts are not easy to achieve/find. Search for the differences and difficulties others have faced, there are a few threads buried on the forum. I have found the wavetrac info is limited but if you can confirm the quaife part number you can probably find the wavetrac one. Wavetrac themselves cannot tell me which one I need to order for my CLK but I suspect I need the equivalent of the quaife QDF7V.

I reached out to them back in November time, Nathan at wavetrac said
"we do not have any planned production for a 210 axle wavetrac for the C32"
I contacted Vlad at ASP about the Quaife he got back to me with a pretty good price at $1070 shipped but would be a bit more to ship to Canada to me.

But the diff will be my next mod on my list.
Thanks for everyone's input

To Be Clear...
The C32 (for which there is no Wavetrac) uses the QDF28b Quaife ATB and is often fitted with the Generic QDF7V. The QDF7V, I have not seen for less than $1399 shipped (this is the best price I have found) http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Site...ife/ES2561411/
HOWEVER, I became in involved with a groupbuy on Benzworld for Quaifes which put me in contact with Bird's AUTO the official distributor (and field engineers as it turns out) FOR ALL MERCEDES Quaife applications. Opinions vary as to how much difference may exist between the QDF7V and the QDF28b (the latter being spec'd specifically for Mercedes 210 axel applications, purported to include all latest upgrades and tolerance corrections and for all applications I've investigated, includes Mercedes OEM seals as well).
AND, all things being equal, I'd want the latest and greatest for my ride.
But the good news is, after exchanging several emails with Birds (and some time on the phone with James Bird), they decided to lower the catalog price of the QDF28b from 959 pounds down to 876 pounds AND ... give a 15% discount off of the new price for the group buy. .... WHICH translates into about $1211 total (Shipping to any US address is Included in that price). (Worth noting, while they usually request payment by wire xfer, etc, they will accept payment by credit card for this deal)
We only need 5 participants to get this group buy price (if we fail to get 5, they will still give a 7.5% discount to those involved) and while some in the group-buy seeking quaife models for other applications may still be waiting to act, I and another member are definitely in for this price ...
So, 3 more participants and we all get this correct diff for $1211 shipped
I will be posting more info in the Group-buy thread in the other forum tomorrow (relative to how to submit info to Birds to get on the list), but if you have any questions about this now (March 2015, not 4 months or 2 years from now please) ... by all means, send me a PM.
Cheers,
Chris
P.S.This message is intended for C32 owners, however ...
this same diff also fits early 2003 SL55s and some early E55s as well.
