C32 w SL55 intake pipes fitment Q

Just finished installing a complete SL55 intake setup on my C32. Along with the Y pipe and hoses, I went with the airfilter boxes and K&N filters as well as the Sl55 intake pipes from the radiator support. I fabbed up extensions in order to retain the front mounting clips. Also trimmed the air filter boxes in a few spots to get a nice tight fit that looks oem.

My question is regarding the intake pipes leading from the radiator support to the air filter boxes. The SL55 pipes fit, but the shape of the opening is less than ideal. What have you guys done? I'm considering cutting the oem c32 intake scoops that fit properly into the radiator support openings and somehow mating them to the SL55 intake pipes.

I haven't done so yet, but will be slightly modifying the front engine cover as well.

Thoughts?

I just shoved my SL pipes straight thru like you did. Worked just fine. I also installed the engine shroud after modification. You have to modify the height of the bracket on the shroud that mounts to the pulley so it sits at the correct height and remove the end clips that clip in to the C32 boxes

I need to put some clamps on the pipes where they meet the airboxes as mine wont snap tight. Yours fit better it appears

I zip tied the edges of the airboxes down to the valve cover and i put two screws in the air intake pipes where they meet up at the airboxes. This with a pulley made a big difference.

Looks great, sis you feel any difference in throttle response? I have the same setup on my 55. Great work, love the OEM look.

I noticed that I lost a little torque but the horsepower increased on the top end.

Havent had a chance to drive her yet. Will report back later as to my initial thoughts.

I was able to utilize the oem mounting clips as I didnt want to use zip ties.

Once you fit the nose cover, you may find that you need the zip ties to suck the airboxes down farther than the clips will. That's the only way my nose cover was able to fit and stay in place.

I'll keep that in mind. It appears as though raising the front a bit would negate having to do that. My air boxes are about as low as they can go, virtually on the coil packs

you will have to shim the mounting tab of the front cover up about 1/4" to get it to fit correct if your boxes are tight to the valve covers

Shimmed the front mounting tab, and modded the two rear tabs. Front cover is on. Hows it look?
