Vomitmobile gets "Evosported"
Had stage 1 w/SL55 splitter done yesterday. Car feels and sounds like a completely different vehicle. It is also much more efficient. I averaged 24 MPG @ 75-80 MPH during the 90 mile trek from Huntington Beach to San Diego (at least 3 MPG better than pre-mods). The strangest thing was decelerating on the freeway. When taking my foot off the gas, it feels like the tranny has kicked down into 4th (but it has not). I think that this must be from the increased compression resulting from the charger boost increase (or would that not make sense, since I am noticing the sensation when my foot is off of the gas)? As far as acceleration goes, the best description I can give of the power change is that acceleration in 2nd gear now feels like what 1st gear felt like pre-mods. (Pre-mods: I never had ESP intervene when the transmission kicked down into 2nd on dry pavement). The sound coming out of the car is also alot more substantial now, (much more like a Ferrari than a Hoover). Is this related to the SL55 splitter? Finally, I think the beast may have shed a few pounds, as the box of old pulleys which Evosport returned to me are heavy steel monsters (and the Evosporters are aluminum, I believe). Maybe Evosport can answer that question: What is the weight reduction with the Evosport pulleys?
Anyways, "thanks guys" for doing a clean job.
