San Diego area drag strip?

Anyone know a good 1/4 mile strip in or around San Diego where I can time my car? What do they charge, and what equipment is required (helmet?)? Any info would be great.

Vomit, In the San Diego area the only drag strip is Carlsbad raceway. They charge $25 for entry. They are open on Saterdays. They do require a d.o.t. helmet. You can send me an email for more info.

Drag time

Not sure what time they start. If they start at 9:00 and we are first, we could probably do it. I will email NMM re: details, since he has been there before.

the road to drive there isnt very smooth and be prepared to fight for traction on that track.

Saturday drag day

Dink: Pick the day. The following Saturday (March 13) is fine. It is my understanding from the Carlsbad Raceway website that races start at 11:00 AM, but I will call them to confirm on Monday. Anyone else out there interested?

Good to hear...the last time I went people were running slower times due to traction issues.

Confirmation for March 13

Dink: March 13 sounds good. You are in La Jolla. I will come from Tierrasanta west on the 52 to the 5. Let's meet somewhere off the 5 just north of the 52. Any ideas? We can then do a high-speed caravan up to Carlsbad. Propose leave around 9:30 to get there a little early. Looks like they require a D.O.T. helmet and long pants. I suppose that my dirt bike helmet will work, although I will look like a moron. Do you have access to race gas? Give me your email so we can spare the forum lackeys freezing their collective ***** off out in the "lesser states" from having to listen about how we want to get to the strip early to avoid the afternoon heat.

The More The Merrier!

Plan is to meet at Coco's near the 5/52 interchange in La Jolla at 9:00 AM on March 13, get some breakfast, and head north. Anyone who wants to join, either meet for breakfast or meet us at the raceway. Right now it is just Dink and I, but all are welcome. Email me with your plans so we know who to expect/look for. C-YA
