Two hot ones from Sweden ;)
First:
Do you have cracked glass on headlights?
And you think it´s waaay to expensive with new complete set.
Buy cheap nonxenon hella. the 'glass' is the same on our bixenon lights.
Second (c55/clk55 only):
Cheap powerupgrade.
Get rid of restrictive kneebend between throttlebody and airmeter.
Buy an 80mm 135degree silicone bend.
Cut to desired measurements(not perfect on picture) and make a bung for crankcasebreether.
place bung at green marker, make sure it don´t hit the vacuumline for brakebooster.
This mod is good for 5-15hp depending on setup.

Exactly where i wrote, between airmeter and throttlebody.
Underneeth the airfilter to the rear.
You are replacing this:

Thanks ....
I actually was planning on replacing that because my clip broke some how now everytime I remove the filter housing it comes loose and sucks air.
do you have a part number or possible price indication ?

No price in dollars either.
remember hoseclamps.

It gave power yes!
But with std converter car is actually slower on 1/4.(it doesn´t pull hard off the line, power builds above ~3000-3500rpm and all the way to revlimiter)
Already said that in pm to you.
I tested a lot last summer, but now it´s kicked in a corner in the garage, and needs to be forgotten about.
Forget that mod, or at least stop bugging me.
Rgds.

Not in an N/A car.
I did road test with my compressorsetup.
and it told me about larger gains than i stated here.
I would be very very suprised if it gave nothing as the radius on bend is MUCH larger than std.
We all know that air hate´s travelling around corners.

Thanks Swedepat. Will look into this in the future once I have aftermarket KNN filters installed. I suppose, filters, this silicone hose bend at the rear coupled with the different front air dam hoses should have gains for N/A. In the W209 forum, someone installed some different front intake ducts or was it in this forum. Can't recall but they are bigger in size than std C55/CLK55
Vashan, just get them from Maxmotorsport but follow the procedures and steps he has outlined for the bung and where you need to cut. As well as the good quality clamps.

Swedepat, is it not possible to machine the inners of that component with a dremel or something to less restrict the air flow? The design looks good to me but the inside from the photo seems to have fins of some sort?

I have done that already, i added epoxi etc etc to build a nice radius in std elbow, but it´s still to sharp.

I can´t say anything about larger pipes as i haven´t tested it.
I use 'needswings', but a homemade version with less bends and less restrictive filters, AND larger hoses to the front.

made a testdrive today with new mods.
And, at 5000rpm the engine now awakens harder than before, and the inlet roars louder above 5k also.
But i have done a few other mods also.
No performancenumbers as road was wet.
Will test later.

Just how verifiable are these outcomes? I ask because like you found with the much freer flowing manifold, more air isn't always the answer. Sometimes, less air with a higher velocity will actually fill the chambers faster.
Dont misunderstand, it's awesome you're still looking for gains since most of the world has left us for w204s and now 205s. I just don't have any extra time for "possible" gains. Like you, I want more HP at the rear tires and not so much on paper to talk about.

I did the test at the same road in two directions(5 times, as always).
I always tests at the same location.
I verify with both Gtech and App in phone.
It is almost as good as a dyno i would say, actually almost a little bit better as it is 'real life performance' and not 'a paper to talk about'.
Trapspeed is now 95.3mph at the 1/8mile.
Calculate that with mine ~1840kg´s and you will see that all these small mods i´ve done has added more than you might think at first.
The phone app can also make a dyno output with weathercorrections, will do that in the coming days.
and about fillings cylinders with air,, yes.. speed will fill better(due to inertia), but less(less density will have less inertia)denisty air won´t build speed *lol*
And how to build speed in runners?
Well,, you have to fill the plenum fast enough, only way to do that is to make airsystem less restrictive, hence i used this 30buck siliconehose.
Try to acheive 1.5mph on 1/8th with another 30 buck mod
