Gearbox issues limp mode I think

Hi All.
New to the Forum but have always been reading up on who's got the answers and now I need some.
Can anyone help me with my Mercedes, she has never given any issues and now I have issues galore.
It is a 2002 C32 AMG 175k with trans issues, I have now replaced the conductor plate inside the transmission, changed the plug, new transmission fluid and she still goes into limp mode for some unknown reason.
If that is all changed does it need to be reset with a certain diagnostic machine?
Is there anything else I need to do or get for my baby to get sorted.
Any help with appreciated.

after you have put a conductor plate etc, you have to clear codes and then it should be fine.

Does it need to be cleared by a specific diagnostic scanner and what will happen if there is to much or to little oil in. I have one of those measuring dip sticks which indicates a 25 and 85 degree marks. I might be getting the oil level wrong, it is measure with the car idling correct? do I select a gear then put it back into park then measure.
Thanks for the help thus far

yes it needs a special scanner and if you have not had this done it is the problem.

Before checking the level, the clutches have to be filled, so, yes, you have to go in R and D before going back to P, with engine running.

And also, tell us what Pcodes you are getting.

As far as I know, checking tranny fluid has to be done at a certain fluid temperature. So you need to drive it for 10 mins or so then check the fluid level when the temp on the tranny measures 80 or so degrees celcius I think. If you can actually test the fluid temp you better off and closer to get an accurate fluid level with the dipstick.

Did you try to disconnect and reconnect the battery after some time to see if that helps? Ensure you remove negative first followed by positive terminal and vice versa during reassembly.

Let me just say this again. If you replace the conductor plate you must have someone with STAR or the like reset the transmission. The codes need cleared and there is an adaption process you are supposed to go through. The adaptation process is not imperative but the code clearing absolutely is.

I know there is a speed sensor in the valve body and sometimes they crack, giving bad signals, the only things mad my car limp was gas pedal assembley and IC pump.
