2003 C32 Recall Letter

Just got a recall letter from MBUSA: 2003090005 - 203 C32AMG FLASH ME. Start Date: 3/8/2004.
Not sure this will do to our car...more hps.

If I were you, I would not have this done right away. Wait to see if someone else has this done and likes the outcome. You may not want to have this done at all. Many cases of manufacturers flashing new software into cars and the cars suddenly lose horsepower.

If you have an aftermarket chip installed (or ECU alterations), will having this recall work done mess up the mods?

I got that letter too.....too bad, they will install a new software.
I have sold my Springs & pulley & intake and I may retun my C- to the dealer...

I love my C32 but I am single and I have no reason to have 3 cars.
The ML is my everyday car & the Turbo is the new toy. The handling of the Turbo is unmached for the C32, and I will just chip the 911 with H&S for $2,000 and I will get 480hp & 480lb-ft on 3,400 lb, 4wd, 6-speed car

You probably did not get the letter because it only affected about 2400 cars. See if your vin is in these two groups:

170.466 from F264183 to F278338
203.065 from F282364 to F336081

If no, then you do not need the flash.

Car is @ dealer for ME flash

I will post some result when the car return later. As usual they provided C240 as a loaner. They are brand new with all the options. Pretty nice.
While waiting for my loaner, I saw a 04 C32 Bk/Bk sitting in the showroom with Speical sign on it...$5000 off MSRP. I guess they are expected C55 soon...Damn it.

Noted my car has no mod on ECU and Pully...bone stock.

After the flash, it seems to react to gas must sensetive. The trasmission become so responsive which give me quick downshift with just a bit more gas...before flash, it won't downshift at all with the same amount of gas. Looks like the car is relearning my driving style.
I don't see any huge different on the power.
