New First-Time Mercedes Owner from SoCal! (2002 C32 AMG)
My name is Cale Engelage and I'm from the Orange County Area in California! I recently purchased a used 2002 Mercedes C32 AMG from a close family friend! I got it for a decent price and I am currently in the process of making it reliable and safe. (Hopefully looking to add a couple accessories and performance upgrades in the future.)
This is my first time joining a forum community other than iRacing and would love any advice on the car or local repair shops from other California guys. Thanks all for the advice in advanced. Find me on iRacing/Twitter/Instagram!
Happy to be here!
I'm new to this so does anyone have any unique recommendations for refurbishing a car that hasn't ran for 7 years?
(Also, it has a pretty large drain on the battery with the key out so I'm probably gonna do the DIY power seat module fix. But there is also a fan constantly running behind the center console COMMAND Nav that doesn't turn off.. I haven't been able to find a good solution for this issue though.)
Thanks everyone! All in all I'm super excited about the undertaking and cannot wait to get behind the wheel!
almost every question about these cars has been asked and answered on this community forum so a few searches should help you find what you're looking for.
these C32's seem to be holding decent value around $8-10k depending on miles and condition....these are surprisingly quick cars especially after you upgrade the pulley, add headers, intake and tune and you'll have quite a beast on your hands for a 14 year old car!!!!

first observation, I'm wondering why not seeing any 2012+ E63 amg / M157 on the list considering what they are capable of when tuned and the various youtube videos posted by some of the tune companies .
**can see there are 10+ C63 AMGs tuned by Weistec on the list some 9 second and many 10 second quarter mile times. plus several E55's on the list...
am sure there are E63S / W212 that should be represented here based on some of the youtube videos i've seen of 1/4 mile runs with E63S but not seeing any despite at the time (2014-2016) being the most powerful E AMG ever built (aside from the 2017 E63 AMG)....
so based on dragtimes data would it be true that a modded C63 is faster than a modded E63 that is mid 10's for 1/4 mile? curious for any feedback and again not trying to cause controversy as I do love my 15 E63S and a tune is something I will do once I sort out all the many options that exist..
thx all
