2002 C32

AMG Challenge today.. need louder car

I was at the AMG challenge today near LA and for the first time, I heard an SL55 at full throttle. I think it is one of the most beautiful sounds I've ever heard. After hearing the SL55 go by and the C32 go by, I could barely hear the C32. So I started to think about making my car louder, or sound like an SL55.

Are there any ways to make the car sound like the SL55? What are the methods to make the car louder? Is there anything low cost? I don't want to go with the quad exhaust and would prefer to stay with the AMG exhaust tips. Are there any ways???

I saw a few C32's in the parking lot. There was one with Lorinser rims next to me, any of you here?

I thought the event didn't live up to my expectations, yet it was a fascinating day. Sat back in a Maybach going 130mph. Our C32 went up to 140mph on the oval. Overall, after driving all the cars, I thought that the E55 was the best all around car. Also, the SLK32 is a great car as well. The only thing I liked about the SL55 was the sound and the looks. The car is way too heavy. Same goes for the CL55. I also really liked the CLK55.

Well, I dont know about making it sound like the SL55 but the most ecomical and practical option would be to cut your resonater out. This produces a pretty neat sound.

how do i do that? and how much does it cost?
can i put it back if i decide i don't like it?

thanks..

local shop can do it for like $60 and it's just a piece inline of the exahust pipe ..so it's just cut out and replaced with a pipe. if you don't like it they can weld the resonator back on.

Hmm...that's something I might be interested in. I really want some more sound from the C32 also. I will have the resonators removed for sure though.

You're going to have a hard time getting your V6 to sound like an MB V8. An Eisenmann exhaust or some headers will get your car sounding meaner, but you'll need to get a C55 if you want to replicate the SL55s roar.
