C32 potential Buyer

Hi, I just registered to this site and I really enjoy following all the threads. I'm interested in purchasing a C32. I already own a 91' M5 and now I need something more practical and fast. When is a good time to buy one? I was looking for a 2001 within the low $30 range if possible. Will the new C55 drop the C32 price? Your input would be appreciated. Thanks

2002 C32 Black/Charcoal
Welcome! I bought my 2002 in January of this year for $34.5K with 29K miles. Your price range is realistic if you will be happy with a car with around 30K miles. You might want to decide if you are going to want the ECU/pulley/intake mods done, as, if you do, it might make more sense to look for a car with them already done.

The C32 was not made in a 2001 model. Some of them were built in the first half of 2001, but were sold as 2002 models.

As far as the effect of the C55 launch on C32 price, this issue has been pretty well discussed already. Allow me to summarize: The C55 is a slightly nicer car than the C32, but the C55 is also considerably more expensive. My personal feeling is that (1) the used C32 market already reflects the pending intro of the C55, and (2) the elevated price of the C55 should actually work to support, or even raise, used C32 prices. IMHO, the C55 at $60K versus a used C32 at $35K is a no-brainer (in favor of the C32).

The long term prospects are more uncertain. If MBZ eventually launches a $60K supercharged C55, both the C32 and the N/A C55 are going to tank, but this is premature, like worrying about colon/prostate failure in high school.

Good luck!

The whole idea of AMG is to push more and more to true "limited" production vehicles... therefore, C32s, C55s, E55s etc, etc vehicles would not have their value as "limited" production cars if those are manufactured year after year; after year... though "sadly"; and necessarily, most models have a several year "line run" before they are discontinued, the whole idea is the shorter the production line of the car, the better!!!... (as indicated on Mr Vomit's posting, I only "add" a bit more; and try to avoid repeating the whole thing AND what has been discussed in other threads--)...

Cheers!!!

Don't listen to that Weirderman guy, even if he agrees with me. His wife is an attorney and has driven him wacko. Dude actually sees Star Wars hallucinations on a daily basis. Thinks his car is the Millenium Falcon and his wife is Carrie Fisher. Thinks "Vader" is actually "Darth."

May the force be with you in your vehicle purchase.

thanks everybody. I am living in Cincinnati and there aren't any c32 close by. I just have to wait and hope a good car with a good deal pops up. Ahhhh....the whole wait is part of the fun.

Audi C7.5 S6
location of C32s

It seems most of the used C32 end up in

Texas
Florida
New Jersey
Los Angeles area, CA.

Best (lowest) prices in Texas & Florida

For Ohio, Texas would be the closest clump of used C32s.

You can find a bunch on www.Autotrader.com

There are three C32, within 300 miles of Cincinnati, Ohio

Thanks M444, I will look into that. I might have to travel that 200 miles.

And for My401, interesting........what kind of mods did you add? Any pics? Thanks alot.

And for everybody.....it seems that C32's with there low price and amazing performance seems to the best deal for a car with soo much potential. I am really excited. Sorry for the tangent
