Wife's C32 is bought... first stop... Evosport.

Ok, the wife's 2003 C32 has been purchased. I paid $41.5K (7,500 miles, perfect condition) and another $500 to have the seller's brother drive the car from Las Vegas to Evosport's shop in Huntington Beach. Off the bat these are the things I am having done for the wife:

H&R coilovers
BBS RA 18" w/ SO3s
BiXenons
Evosport Stage I and II minus the headers
Painted side reflectors

Any other suggestions? I was thinking carbon fiber trim, illuminated door sills and tint . Keep in mind the car is for the wife. Although I have enjoyed finding it and having Evosport tweak it, I'm not going to be spending much time in it. The stock engine, let alone Stage I and II are probably overkill for the wife, but I couldn't resist.

A) It will make the car sound a little too mean for my wife. Headers on my V8 made it sound extremely aggressive. My wife and son need a more serene environment.

B) While the dealers might not immediately spot the other mods, the headers can't be missed.

Maybe. I'll probably see how the H&R CO's feel first. After seeing pictures here, I'm definitely getting that CL grill.

Nice! With all those mods, I hope you get to drive it some too

Where are you getting illuminated doors sills from? Are you getting the /////AMG sills or Mercedes-Benz?

When he gets his car back, he'll probably totally forget about the lowly 400+ hp C32 in the garage....

I talked with my local dealership a couple of weeks ago about headers. They told me no big deal, as long as I was not complaining about an exhaust rattle they could care less about the headers.

Yeah, chances are they won't give you a hard time. That isn't the primary reason I'm not getting headers. The main reason is b/c the car is for my wife and 1 year old son, so I don't want it tuned too aggressively.

And its a girl's. I'm just setting it up for my wife and driving it from Evosport to NorCal. How do you like it? How do those headers sound?

Lightbulb Illuminated Front and Rear Door Sills, Electric Folding mirrors (W203)

Front and rear door sills look on a high light intensity environment (like in the middle of the day, when door sills will not lit due to the surrounding high light environment --detected by light sensor--)

Front and rear door sills look on a low light intensity environment (door sills lit due to the surrounding low light environment --detected by light sensor--)

Close up of illuminated rear door sill

Close up of illuminated front door sill

A little foot note to the sills:

Rear door sills are not your "clip ons" you can buy on other websites, they are custom made by Mr Harris from http://www.hartonmotorwerks.com

Front door sills are the OEM Mercedes Benz product

W203 FOLDING MIRRORS...

W203 outside frame for mirrors with folding feature (for Xenon headlights, another swtich part is needed for non-Xenon versions --switch looks the same, just the part No is diff as switch for non-Xenons will not work with Xenon lights and viceversa--)

New dash switch for W203 folding mirrors (for Xenon headlights, another swtich part is needed for non-Xenon versions --switch looks the same, just the part No is diff as switch for non-Xenons will not work with Xenon lights and viceversa--)

Dash unit switch detail for W203 folding mirrors (for Xenon headlights, another swtich part is needed for non-Xenon versions --switch looks the same, just the part No is diff as switch for non-Xenons will not work with Xenon lights and viceversa--)

I "concentrated" a bit too much ordering the switch to get the "right" color that matched my C32's dash color (there are "several" dark shades in color optionsm, so in the electronic parts catalog all that "showed" was the part No. with a different color and we had about 4 different shades of "dark" or charcoal, blach interior colors... solution???... with the VIN No. the dealer in Germany was able to determine for sure what was the matching color of my dash swtich) and though I suceeded getting the right swtich, the "folding" mirror frames you see on the picture actually dont fold at all!!!... haha!!... (well, I am not laughing since the shipping and everything is already done!)... lack of asking them to verify the mirror frames were the correct part No(s) which I forgot to do, I gave the ok to Germany to ship me the part... whelp??? they all got here fine... just wrong mirror frame parts!!!...

I am in the process of having the correct parts sent... (folding mirrors WILL be installed also by the local Mercedes Benz dealer... again, it won't be cheap the labor.. so I am NOT endorsing to anyone to do it that way ... )

Any thoughts????

Cheers!

Let's see some pics! Maybe you can include pics of the monster CLK while you're at Evosport too.

Check out the baseline dyno on my wife's C32. Not quite 300 rwhp, but pretty damn close. From what I understand, strong for a stock C32. Post tuning dyno should be fun.

Wienerman: Doorsills look good. I think I'll get the AMG ones for the wife. About how much did they cost?

Is it common for a SC'd car to run so lean at the top?

11.3:1 AFR is LEAN?

This is actually very rich, most C32s are at 12.5:1 AFR.

Thanks Vadim for the clarification. I didn't know the stock number. In order to protect the engine from the extra forces created from the SC, I thought it would run richer than what it does. Does your Chip'd set up run the same AFR?

Audi C7.5 S6
The only reason to run richer, is to prevent detonation. Most engines running boost run about 12 to 12.5 A//F ratio, if everything is perfect. On the street, one might run below, 12, to be conservative, because variances gasoline octane and ambient temperature.

It is common for tunned cars to get into the 11 region A/F, for a conservative (safe) tune.

One will actually make more HP, with a leaner A/F, until, they melt the tops of the pistons.
