I saw that picture in one of the car magazines. I think Chrysler or some maker paired up with AMG. It also mentioned something about it being similar to the SLK roadsters...
But why would Chrysler want to re-produce a version of their own?

Ironically.... we may actually BENEFIT 
btw don't believe everything you read. I for one, would NOT be surprised if the c32/crossfire engines were virtually identical.
I remember when I bought my 2000 c230k and was told by MB (Staff & Sales Brochure) that the c280 was a quicker car all around.... WRONG! IMHO they wrote that in just so they could get the extra $6k for the V6 over the SC inline-4.
Same thing I hear about the rating "rights" of the same 1.8l engine (Audi A4 gets to rank it higher than VW Golf/Jetta)

I am not a negative person but it is shocking to me that MB would have anything to do with a project as idiotic as taking an SLK chassis, SLK32 motor and tranny and building a POS crossfire out of it! According to the review, it didn't do too well in several areas, looks like a cheap peice of plastic and is only $6K less expensive then the SLK32 was loaded. They said that it lacked the rocket like performance of the SLK32 so it is probably detuned but easy to bring back to spec. My SLK32 was a rocket, much more so then the C32 so I know what they are talking about.
Makes want to get rid of my Mercedes and not buy one again when they start doing stuff like this! It would be like BMW putting a slightly detuned S54(M3) motor in a Mini Cooper S.
Oh well, I guess the marketing force must do what ever it takes to bail the Crossfire out before it sinks!

looks aiit, but not my cup of tea. Some diehard Chrysler fan will love it, others will not as that thing will cost into the $50ks, and I know I'm not gonna pay $50k for a Chrysler even tho it's actually a SLK, a 6-7 years old SLK on an even older modified w202 chassi.
