Jeez, already at $53k and change. I hate how they really don't list all the options on the auction page. For some reason, most auctions don't list the options in the auction -- but I guess they want you to call and find out (then reel you in).

I would like to know why that C55 has 74 miles on it already? Who's been punchin' the hell out of that car? HELL NO! I told my sales guy my car had better not have more than 7 miles on it when it comes in or I'm not taking it. He assured me that no one drives their AMG cars.

AMG tests their cars before they go out, they all have miles on them when you get them. yours is going to have around that when you get it. so good luck, your salesperson is mistaken. i believe there was a thread about this some time ago in one of the forums.

Nah, I heard that even though they test the AMG cars, they are putting miles on it but it's not calculated on the speedo. The miles don't start on the counter until they've been shipped.

How do they come up with a lease then with lets say 12K miles per year. Would they deduct the miles that AMG put on it? I don't think so.

Yes they do. My car came with 15 miles on it I think. You sign a paper where it says how miles the car has when they give it to you.

and the warranty starts with the mileage that is on the car when you sign the purchase contract. So if you get a demo car from the dealer with 5000 miles on it, the warranty wont end till 55,000 miles are on the car.

There is no reason a car coming off the boat should have 50+ miles on it. If they arent car wash boy miles, they could indicate the car had some work done on it at the port...another...stay away flag for me.

Does anyone know the length of the C55?

There is a picture with the window sticker that clearly lists all options that the car has (DVD Navi., Lighting Package and Premium Package).

Lease mileage will start from the actual mileage that is on the car when you sign the paperwork. So, for example, this car has 74 miles and you sign a lease for 3yrs/12k miles per year. When you turn the car back in to the bank, you will be allowed 36,074 miles on the odometer! The factory warranty is a different story & if the car was a demo (never titled), then you will get the entire 4yr time, but if the car has 3500 miles when you buy, you will only have 46,500 miles left.

best of luck there. I always pick my cars up at the port/VPC center (before any truck driver, tech, or dealerhip gets near the car) and they have an average of 10-15 miles on them at that point. So if you get 7 miles someone airlifted your car around germany for you

I mean someone had to put gas in that C55 ... in the next county!

Most demo car warranties start when the car goes into service. So if MB puts the car into service in June of 2004 it expires in June of 2008 regardless of how long MB used the car. Same goes for miles. The car is covered for 50k miles only and this is why a demo car is sold at a discount.

Cars come off the boat wiht about 10 miles on them most of the time. Once in a while I will see one with below ten but my last 3 cars were between 10-15 miles old when I got them at the VPC center.

my guess would be they didn't actually put the car on the trailer from the port to the dealership, instead they drove it to the dealership.

I watched mine came off the trailer w/ around 12-15miles on it.

On delivery I questioned why my clk had a little over 50 miles on it. There was an AMG form letter that said it was randomly selected and left the testing with a handwritten 46 miles on it.

AMG does test all their engines but its bench testing for a minute at full load...so no miles on the odometer until the car leaves the assembly line.

Thanks guys for that info!

I didn't know that about the mileage. I sure would like to know how some of you are able to see your car come off the boat. Does the dealer tell you when it's expected to arrive? I want my dealer to let me know if this is the case.

Again, thanks!

aside from any potential delays at port...the dealer can give you a pretty accurate update on when the car will show up.

Question: Why do the headlights look pointier on the C55 vs. other C-Classes? Is this a change on the 05' models? Just noticed this.
