Hello everyone! So I have come across a 2005,Diamond Black C55 AMG down here in Texas. It has 85,000 miles, always serviced at the MB here in town; and two wonders! I had been looking for such a car since November but granted how rare they are, I never expected one to show up for sale within 45 minutes of me.. I used to have a 2013 VW Passat SE, it got to 75,000 miles on the dot before the oil cooler broke, transmission oil cooler broke, heater core broke, CV Boot, it’s as if the car just wanted to be scrapped for parts, fair enough. With that being said, I am not sure what to expect with a car such as the C55, it has twice as much HP and Torque as the Passat, and of course with that amount of power comes a little more intensive maintenance ritual, probably the same price for parts knowing how VW likes to brand their “German” parts *cough cough Mexican parts*. In type of advice would help me out in the long run, as I am 100% a plebeian in the Mercedes World, and I would really appreciate the support and advice from fellow C55 owners. The only things that were visibly wrong with the car was the front bumper was barely cracked (negotiation point) and the left fog light is cracked as well, other than that it is immaculate, looks like stock brakes on the car in the rear so I am planning on changing those very, very soon. It is rocking Pirelli P Zero’s all around, but I am open to cheaper options, as I hear these cars eat tires for breakfast!! Any advice would be appreciated; and I’m very excited to see where this car takes me in the world of the Benz! Cheers boys.
Hey! welcome to the forum. I have the exact same car. Mine just rolled past 185k with no major issues. Transmission valve block at 130k, that was it. Leaks a bit of oil from the rear main seal, but not enough to warrant replacement yet.
For parts go to fcpeuro.com
Watch this video for a primer on common issues with the car.
Welcome! Nice looking C55. Pirellis get some poor reviews on this site relative to tire wear. Also, rotate your tires with each oil change/every 10k miles. MB specifies excessive camber and toe, particularly in the rear, and this eats tires if nothing is done to avoid the wear.
I second fcpeuro. Nice looking car. I kind of miss mine. Also tires are expensive but you have to pay to play. Don't ruin the experience with cheap tires. Get the best you can afford. trust me.

C55's have a staggered set up, no rotation possible.
Hello everyone, I appreciate all of the advice and positive words, but I decided to go with something else. I ended up getting a 2010 E350 Coupe with 26,500 miles and one owner. I was able to get a 5 year or 60 thousand mile warranty, whoever comes first.. I will definitely have to post pictures of it. I don’t have many pictures except one of me cheeeeesing, I’ll take more tomorrow. In the mean time enjoy! Cheers boys.
