Talking Finally some pics of my car

Ok I finally have some pics of my car. It only took me 1.5 years to post em.

There was a meet in Boston and a fellow member Sorlo was good enough to take them.

Here is one of my car with the Carlsson's and HRE'd out.

Those are my favorite wheels on the C32, period. Painted centers, right? Get those calipers darker!!!

sweet suspension and rims. LOOKS like OGGLE's ride except it's a C32. LOL

you got gold caliper syndrom because you've tracked the car. The constant high heat from braking on the track is what made the paint change color.

smg,

Thanks, i decided to splurge and got the etched aluminum centers but I am kinda wishing I had gotten the painted because the aluminum is too subtle and too expensive.

Those calipers were a little bit darker but I washed them pretty good and they seem to get lighter after a good wash. I do need to get them nice and bronze like yours though. Haven't had much time for the track the past month. I have consoled myself by doing some indoor karting instead. Haven't done it in a year and forgotten how exciting that is. I am definitely getting a shifter kart next year and I don't care if I get passed by 16yr olds.

Frank,

Thanks, yes the gold caliper is definitely from the track. If somebody got that from street driving I would be afraid to meet them.

I like the etched center caps. I was referring to the wheel's forged centers which come in a variety of finishes. Looks like yours are painted speed silver or what ever HRE calls it. Less flashy that way. If not etched center caps, my next choice is the black painted logo. I don't care for the blue color ones. You can even drill out the centers to accept the stock MB center caps if you want a stealth look, but some might think you got replica's that way.

Frank, I though the calipers got that color because of the lack of convenient urinals at most tracks...

Prasith, how is your car paint holding up at the track with the occational flying debris commonly encountered? Do you tape up the metal as well as the fogs? Why not the headlights?

Steve, No wonder you Californians are part of that Trend-Setting State.... Very ingenious, getting rid of waste water and using it to thermo-cool automotive components... My Hat's off to ya lol

he he,

I wonder why it is such a problem to have clean bathrooms at a track. For 200/day (more than most hotels I might add) you would think they would have a few decent bathrooms.

What is up with the modified bathtub for the urinal?

Lime rock is the worst and NHIS is the best so far (that does not mean its good). Summit Pt. and Watkins Glen are somewhere in between.

And then there's the subject of track food which I don't even want to get into.

smg,

My wheels are brushed aluminum with clearcoat but they look like silver paint. Only if you look really close is the brushed aluminum evident. High price to pay for something you can't see but at least I can see it and marvel at it while I am cleaning off my brake dust every other day . All part of the HRE learning process I guess. In the future I will go with silver painted center and black HRE caps (much cheaper that way and will look almost the same).

As for the wear and tear of the track my paint is holding up quite well. I detail my car every other week with zaino and though the paint chips are inevitable I think the zaino has helped a lot. There are only a few around the edges of the hood. The grill has some marks in it so I will get the CL-look grill in a year or so. I will get my front end resprayed in a year or so and that point I will put the clearbra on. It is mostly the bumper that takes the brunt of the damage. The headlights are plastic anyways so I don't usually tape it up. The foglamps I do but I really don't need to.

No off-track excursions yet. Hope to keep it that way .... at least with this car :v .

Thanks for all the nice comments.

Prasith
