On a track C32 those are just wear items like the Brakes and Tires. Consider yourself lucky nothing more expensive is breaking. When's your next track day? Looks like SOWS on Sept. 3rd for me.

I've had one replaced recently on the driver's side. 7000 miles of normal driving, no tracking etc.

Just making noise. My first passenger side unit started to go at under 2000 miles. Now, about 18,000. The bushing wears out.

Sept 3 I think is a go with me and CynCarvin. Hum... what to rent this time! 350Z, Viper, or a 360?

So your endlink did not break it just wore out? I thought from your first post that it broke off. Oh well, considering what your car has been through it does not seem that bad.

I signed up to run with speedventures.net of Sept. 3rd. I will have the CRX on the track for the first time in it's 17 year old life. No more tracking the C32 unless my lottery numbers pay off.

I still think MB dropped the ball on this one. I'm sure I don't drive anywhere near the limit of SMG (and TO = relatively FLAT, thus autos get thrown around less than in the canyons) but my MB rep. has told me that many a c-class has had this repair.

I have not personally looked too closely at the underside of my c32 but I have to believe there should be some aftermarket alternative that can be created to resolve this flaw.

BTW I'm sure you will have a BLAST w. the CRX (only Japanese Car that I truly "miss")

New sway bars?
My car just came back for service, I complained about the front end squeaking (since 15k..now 22k)....they told me a BRAND NEW sway bar bushing is available and it is on order....I gotta bring my car back next week to be installed....Not sure if this is service BS or if a solution has been found! If only they could fix my right xenon, the interior rattling, the screech above 140mph, the.....

whats the symptoms of the broken link? My car makes a squeeking/groaning noise when going over large bumps or when the car leans to the side at times.

Sometimes sounds like intermittent rattling noises never the same nor predictable over any particular surface. The left and right side attachment details are somewhat different in that one side attaches on the front of the tab on the strut, while the other side attaches on the rear of the tab. Maybe the passenger side takes more stress due to its installation angle? Again, what side has been replaced on those cars that have had the repair done? Has anyone replaced the driver's side? I would bet it is a passenger side issue more often. My dealer also said this is a very common problem on the W203.

My front end was making creeking noises going slowly over speed bumps or driveways. It was very annoying. I just had them replaced today. No more noise but it's raining today so a better test will be done when the weather dries up. Hopefully, no more noise.

The parts on the repair order were:

(1) 203-323-11-40 Bracket
(1) 203-323-12-40 Bracket, Spr
(4) 002-990-39-22 Screw
(1) 000-989-80-51-10 Paste for Br
(2) 203-323-17-85 Rubber Mount

'Removed the sway bar & replaced bushings with new'

On a side note, my rear windshield needs to be replaced next week b/c of static on FM stations when the rear defroster is on.
