C55 Build Continued Front end is on...
I still have to adjust the headlights, but it turned out well. A lot of work to get the bumper cover exactly how I wanted it. Ready for paint now finally!

Thanks!
So the front bumper was a bit of a pain to install. Not really what I would call direct fit. A lot of work went into it. First off, none of the things that are on the stock bumper are even close to being reusable for this one such as the headlight washers or even the little snap-in towhook hole cover. If you have any mechanical abilities you should be fine. It's not super easy, but definitely doable with effort.
The back bumper cover went on in what seemed like no more than an hour or so.
As for the paint.... it went into the paint shop a couple of days before a vacation, in hopes that I would be returning from vacation to a fresh Nardo Gray paint job. The paint was backordered 3 weeks. I decide to choose something different. The color is Stainless Steel. I get a lot of compliments, and it does look good, but.... I think it would look killer in Matte Black.
I gutted the exhaust and went to 2 straight pipes. It sounds ridiculous! This thing is as loud and obnoxious as it looks. It's cold starts make you smile. It's idle is surprisingly quiet. It's wide open throttle sounds like a racecar spelled backwards... (Get it? Racecar? lol)
It exploded on me (not really) end of August. There is a coolant fitting behind the firewall under the cowl that grenaded, and there was steam everywhere including pouring into the interior through the heat vents! I was standing 30 feet away when it happened. I thought it was on fire. At night the steam looks like smoke! Found the $26 part and back to normal. The timing sucked though because I was going to ship it to Miami for the Savage Rally and I ended up driving a few other really cool cars instead (Audi RS6 Avant, Rolls Royce Wraith, Lamborghini Diablo, AMG G63, and did 191MPH as a passenger in a Pagani Huayra). Just Lucky that my best friend from high-school has a crazy car collection and trusts me with his stuff.
As winter is approaching, it's going to get some fast goodies. I promise that it will all be on my YouTube channel as this might be the first C55T....

I think I ran out of room on the last post....
I'm sure this car is going to evolve to whatever floats my boat at the time, but I'll never let it go. I've been fortunate enough to have owned a pretty good variety of vehicles, but none as fun as this one!
If it breaks, I'll fix it.. If it blows up, I'll rebuild it..
The turbo build is gonna be pretty sweet. I don't want to boost too hard at first (no more than 8 lbs) but kind of like build gradually to see what it's capable of. If (when) it eventually blows up, I will have a stronger, lower compression engine ready to swap out!

Super cool, I’ve also contemplated the idea of doing a rear mount turbo setup, but the recent six speed manual swap took priority over that and had made the car so much fun to drive I’m happy with it for now.
what kind of turbo setup would you go for?
btw a carbon fiber extended trunk lip spoiler might look pretty good with the aggressive styling of the bumpers now... just a thought

I'm going to go with a Compturbo setup rear mounted with a custom pipejob under where the spare tire was with a clear plexiglass porthole in the trunk to show it off.. the intake is a combination intake from another m113 airbox with a little trick from volvo to reduce turbo lag. I'm still looking for a way to get it tuned..... Gonna try to run no more than about 8 lbs of boost to kind of dial it in. See how it goes. I'm pretty excited. The minute snow gets here the fab begins. Thinking be done in a few weeks then a tune...

That's a good call on the trunk lip. I want to put a splitter in the front lower as well..
