Did a 2002 C32 come with a spare tire?

Did a 2002 C32 come with a spare tire?
Hi,

I am about to pick up a 2002 C32 but I noticed that it didn't have a spare tire. Do they not come with one or is it missing?

In MY2002 the C32 came with a pretty lame fix-a-flat kit in lieu of a spare tire. There was also no engine builder's plate on the supercharger either.

Since the well is there, can I put a spare in there? Would I be putting a full size spare in there?

Certainly. In fact, one of the first things I did after getting my C32 was to order an AMG wheel with a all-season tire from tire rack to put in the well. As I recall you will also need to get a few MB parts as well. The C32life site had a FAQ on retrofitting a full size spare including the MB part numbers.

2003 comes with full size real mag as a spare (front size).

I own a 2002 c32, bought in 2004, i talk the dealer into giving me a free mag spare with the car... dont have it in the car though.. have the dumb little inflate a spare kit.... need to get a full size.... we all know what would happen even with the spare if you got a flat in the back.......

the front rim will fit on the rear fine vise versa.

the one perks I love about my 2002 is that we have the CF looking B-pillars instead of the new cars w/ those shiny B-pillar cover that tends to discolor and flake after a while.

Frank, have you ever seen in person a shiny black pillar discolor and flake? The color is applied on the inside of the material and cannot flake off. The '02 material as used on other MB cars previously is more prone to damage, but I have never seen either one affected by sun or proper car care.

i'm not saying they will be damaged very quickly, but over time the shiny b-pillar cover is actually more prone to aging than the cf looking one.

yup b pillar looks better on 02s and its quicker too due to the ~50lbs in weight savings!
