Was ready to get SSR GT3s then...

I found these wheels. Has anyone here had experience with the Amistad wheels? They are made in Japan and was previously only available for Lexus. Now they are available for MBs. They are of 2-piece cast design and weight aprox. 26~27 lbs. for 18" wheels. What do you guys think, should I try these over the SSRs? They are just a couple of hundreds more.

BTY, the finish I'm looking at is the one on top-left. I think it is called a SBC finish and the lips are polished.

They look nice, but I have to see them on the Car. We know the GT3 looks nice since a few member have them. Hard to tell what they would look like on your car. IMO those rims will be hard to clean.

Last I heard those wheels were only available for the SL...but very nice. But at 27lbs, they're real boat anchors - my 19" forged Dronells (similar design but single pc) weighs in at 8-9kg (17-19lbs, if I remember correctly).

IMO, like the Carlsson 1/16's they'll look good on a C32 (but it also depends on the color of the car) and much classier than the SSRs. Just my $0.02

The only positive thing about SSR GT3 is the weight. Other than that, IMO, they are not particularly strong, not particularly good looking. Ummm...I would say okay looking. If you were to get those Amisted wheels, get the Carlsson 1/16 instead. At least they are much stronger and look a tad better. The ones that you pick look kind of "flimsy" for some reason. 27lbs for an 18" is not light at all, I think the 1/16 is around 30lbs. MAKE SURE the offsets in the front will clear your calipers!!

But the bottom line is: its your money, buy whatever you feel most comfortable with. We can only give you some suggestions or different point of view here.

yea, they do look like copies of the carlsson 1/16, but with the 2-piece design their able to get as much lip as 1.5" on the front and 3" on the rear.

OK, after all the shopping around and runing into walls , long delivery times (SSRs, Amistad) or out of stock (Brabus), I've ordered the Renntech wheels . Spent more then I planned but think I made the right choice. I should have them on the car by Monday. Anything I should be aware of with these wheels?

Sorry Harris, I was in a hurry to get the new wheels and tires and found someone near me that had them in stock. But thanks for the good deal on the springs.

Wow, didn't know they're that good :p . The sales guy I talked to where I bought the wheels says he gets all emotional about these wheels when someone wants to buy a set. When I asked for a discount, he almost cried. I just thought he was a good actor. Now I belive him.
