WELCOME PSYCHOBURN!!!

I noticed you have your Speedshift programmed to "Comfort?"...put that thing on "SPORT OR MANUAL!!!" the "C" setting is best for snow/rain....by the looks of your temp gauge, you're probably somewhere that's a bit chilly (for SO.Cal standards at least) so you're probably right in setting it to "C"

Happy Speeding!!!

HAHAHHAH that's what these forums are for!!! to help fellow owners out!!!

fyi: the "C" starts you off in second gear everytime you reach a dead stop, that way enabling you to have more traction in slippery conditions....you can also find this in your owner's manual

btw, "S" stands for "Standard" not "Sport" sorry for the confusion.....it allows for more of a "SPORT" drive

1000 mile inspection

The C55's have a mandatory 1000 mile inspection which is free, dont forget to take it in. I took mine in there was a problem with the shock sprut so they kept it there and im getting it back tommarow the part came in today! Its been a month. The dealer said its not safe to drive well i have whole nother post about that problem so besides that take it in for the inspection.

Are there other uses for the "C" setting?
Like, does it help gas mileage?
Would it be the setting of choice for transporting your acceleration phobic parents around town?
Is the "S" setting basically a set and forget for most?

C mode...

I heard the C mode keeps the car in 2nd gear and never drops it down to 1st. I am not to sure if im correct or not but that is what i remember my sales person telling me.

1. not sure besides the assistance in traction...

2. not sure about the gas mileage comparo...I usually only have it on "S or M"

3. Yes, definitely gives a more smoother shifting pattern compared to "S or M", per the owner's manual it states "C" will give this comfort driving for situations like transporting your acceleration phobic parents.

4. S=set and forget, M=pay attention!

THIS IS TRUE!!!

you can test and verify this while at a dead stop, say you have it on "S" and want to switch to "M",..... in order to get to "M" you have to go pass "C" ...as you do this watch your dash closely...immediately after you go from "C" to "M" you can see that "M" starts at 2nd gear (telling you that the car was previously in 2nd gear for the "C" mode) and then quickly (as the system realizes it's in "M") switches to 1st gear

They're actually all white, though from the picture, it looks like the middle is blue

I think I remember reading in the manual that it's best to keep it on the "C" setting for the first 1000 miles during the break-in period.

I drove about 100 miles until realizing this myself! lol. Congrats on your 1000 miles btw!
