Viper: You can't play in the C55 game if you don't pay admission (full list)
Mark: Sorry for my fellow Canadians short sightedness
Personally I think Mark would sell the car for sticker + normal drive off fees and such. I have not seen many MB dealerships charge for all that bs stuff as of late. That is left of buying a cheaper car where the profit margin is very low.
That is a rare car though. The wood is a must have so if anyone here is looking for a C55 I would jump at that car. Plastic trim in a 60k car? Not in my book!

Thanks for the comment and how is the "other" car treating you so far?
Yeah the c6 is cheaper! And you can even have enough money left over to buy the stereotypical gold chain and the "We're not gonna take it" song from The Who.
I don't know why people get so grumpy about price around here. Yes, dealer markup is insanely wrong and slimy. Yes, forced options which I find to be much more prevalent at BMW dealerships than Mercedes dealerships suck and turn me off too.
But, if you want a great car, with great safety features, a great brand name, and an arguably great warranty, then go with the C55.
The C6 is an awesome performer, but fiberglass body panels and a friggin' balsa wood floor just don't cut it with me. I have seen one too many "Wildest Police Chases" where the only thing left of a corvette is the two seats and a bloodied driver and passenger. The rest of the car cannot be found as it has vaporized on contact.
Every manufacturer is making their vehicles profitable somehow. Don't fool yourself into thinking the C6 is more for less. The C6 just emphasizes things that are not as emphasized on the C55 and vice versa.
Take care and good luck with your decision.

50 large and outrunning a 997 Carrera S? I think that rings a bell in terms of validity, but even after the interior refinements it is by no means on the same level as an MB, or even the common luxury brands, for that matter.
I must say that after driving a C5 Z06, going back to my C32 is rather uninspiring, but then again, they are different types of cars. If performance is your big concern ditch the C55.

Funny you should ask. It has taken her the better part of the week to even warm up to it. The ownership experience so far has been substantially lower than Mercedes, for example our interaction with BMW assist was a joke (the SOS people were good). There are features like key recognition, automatic door locks and a few others that have to be programmed at the dealership
total hassle. We both like to actually drive the car which is great but its obvious to both of us that Mercedes has superior customer service and a serious edge in the "intangibles".The E-class holds up really well in features and content to the 7 series which is surprising. I certainly wouldn't be unhappy with another E and the 7 is cool to, just different animals.

buyers' got no worry.
