It looks incredible!!! Use it in good health.
Did you trade your E500 on it? Can you compare the two?

The E500 was totalled in an accident, you can search under my username to get the details. The E500 was my wife's car but as fas as comparison they are pretty different. The C55 ride is much firmer even w/E500 on sport 2, it feels lighter, turn in is crisper, brakes actually have some feeling to them, the transimission is much more responsive and it gets out of the way a lot faster obviously. The E500 was a great car the C55 plays a much different role. We wound up replacing the E500 with a BMW 745Li and honestly its a bit of a toss up for my wife. I like the 745Li better than the E500 as far as driving goes but the E500 had better content and the pointed star has more cachet than the BMW.

edit: I just saw that you have an SL55, I drove one and would say the ride/handling on the SL55 is much more similar to the C55 than the E500.

Frozen, those 19"s are sweet, I am thinking about getting a set, post some pics if you get them. Are you going to swap springs or leave the ride height alone?

appreciated your black C55 and nice wood photos.
I did not flip through your E500 posts , guess it was a W211 right?
E500 W211 had always been my dream replacement car before I sold my E320 W210. I could have paid a little more than the C55 for a full options E500; but I did not do that mainly due to the launch of C55. Yes I had lost a lot of "MB hi-tech executive look saloon contents" on a C than a E. I am glad to hear what you said about the two. Even I never drove a E500 W211, I could imagine that the C55 has a feel of more solid and steady ride over the E when driving fast. The most significant changes I felt from my W210 E320 to the C55 are the lighter and solid body and the much better sportier steering. And, I know I really don't need the E's bigger interior space for any more comfort since we never need to be sitting in the car for more than an hour in small Hong Kong. :p

BTW, is it true that BMW 7 series will receive a facelift because their survery shows that masny BMW 7 fans did not like certain elements of the new look ?

Yes I think they did or are doing a minor facelift on the 7 series. I have seen the spy pics and can't really even tell what they did to the front and the back was only changed slightly, IMO not really any improvement. Its a great driving car and the look has actually grown on me. The content on the 7 is inferior to even the E class, the NAV on the 7 is the worst I've used, the voice recognition is only good for minor things like changing a cd in the changer. Still a great driver but wife says she'll go back to Mercedes when the lease is up on the 7 and she's only had it for about 6 weeks.

Great pics, 04E500!

Are these taken with the fancy new camera? How are you liking it?

I think so too on all BMW interiors. They are too much into low costs cars these days. Just look at what they come up with inside the X3 - a messed up interior does not make the car any sportier. I hope a luxury nappa leather E600 V12 will be the future upgrade :p

I wasn't that crazy about the wood when I first saw it, but my wife liked it. Now that I have had it for a few days, its very rich and has a really intriguing grain , pictures don;t do it justice and I really like it.

Yes Bonita, I will get the pics of that Mars red car in the next few days.

Thanks Marcus, I really appreciate your hard work and you never know we may get over there someday. I did get a full 3K off of sticker and it was the only reason I bought it locally. They bungled the followup, getting us key chains, a trunk mat and a phone set up, but you get what you pay for.

Love the car though and thats what counts.
