BUYING ADVICE - 2003 C32

C32 owners and enthusiasts, looking for your advice:

2003 C32 with a solid maintenance history (Service B just recently performed), shy of 100K miles (99,776 to be exact), looks like it is very well kept and has a pristine interior.

- Is it worth $10k
- Do these cars already appreciate in value due to their rarity?

Any input is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

It’s not going to appreciate with 100,000 miles. Maybe a low mileage pristine car, but not that mileage.

Engine mods and body kits are red flags for me. Usually indicator of being driven hard. This being said, worth a look. Designo is a plus. I'd get rid of the Wish body kit and install OEM deck spoiler.

Thank you both.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is the WISH Body Kit? The front and rear spoilers? Supposedly also has Vogtland lowering springs.

In regards to those, I would agree to remove and install OEM deck lid spoiler.

What about the price? You did not respond to my question if it is worth 10K?

Thanks again.

If that car was un-modded, it would be worth 10k easy...in my area.

BTW, I checked out Sacto CL. Your market is full of very interesting cars at tempting prices. LA CL has nothing compared to your selection.

I think he's referring to Chinese products found on wish.com. Incidentally, I don't think you'd find the front lip and rear spoilers on wish. Aliexpress or ebay would be more apropos. I think if you remove that red stripe on the front of the lip spoiler and paint the rear spoiler body color it will look fine. I think that rear spoiler actually looks better than OEM. Nix that fugly grill though.

Thanks, now I finally get it. 😊

I decided not to pursue this vehicle.

Thanks for your help.

My C55 is fast enough but it looks like a C230 so it gets zero street cred. Yes, yes, eye of the beholder but IMO, C32 needs more. The OP's C32 candidate would be perfect for a real Aliexpress kit:

Like to see more of your car.
Front and rear fenders arches are bolt on?

To original threadstarter, I would stay away from C32.
Too much expensive issues with these 6 cylinder cars, get a V8 C55 instead, it's much more reliable!

Sorry, not mine. Wish it was. I found the image by googling "w203 wide body kit" and then watched YT video called:

Rocket Bunny Mercedes Benz C240

2003 C32 AMG
I have two 2003 C32 AMG's and I love the vehicles, They are a wolf in sheep's clothing and if your like me they can be modified a lot which is what I have done on my oldest owned vehicle 12 yrs. I have installed VRP short headers, 64mm clutched SC pulley, Needwings intake, Kincaid Killer chiller with separate coolant expansion tank and lastly OE ECU Tune. Plenty of power and still looking great. My project vehicle just has a SL55 Air Intake system and 64mm clutched pulley and separated SC coolant system with its own expansion tank. I paid $9500 for my oldest vehicle 1 owner 87K from a guy near San Diego. for a time the vehicle was registered to my now ex-wife hens the project vehicle as she wasn't going to hand over the title, found the project vehicle in Michigan with 140K and had it shipped to Fresno CA all in $4200. Ex-wife sent me the title a week after the project vehicle arrived, had only been fighting over it 4 yrs.
Like anything in this world if you like it and can afford it and want it you pay what you pay and enjoy owning it so my advise is if you like the vehicle and intend on keeping it for a very long time you pay your money and enjoy the vehicle, so if I was looking at the vehicle I would want to get the vehicle in question for around $7500. As for the spoiler and front lip spoiler entirely up to the person buy the vehicle if they like them or not. There is not a lot of the C32 on the roads and finding parts for some things is getting a little more difficult but not impossible because of the W203 platform only C32 AMG specific items are getting scarce. As for the engine comment I have seen they really don't know what they are talking about, the biggest issue I have had with my oldest vehicle was the supercharger intercooler leaking into the cylinder head and fouling the up stream cats. Just replaced all my coil plugs and the throttle body harness plug. The pins in the plug get worn extremally fast from repeated removal, cause the throttle to hunt resulting idle going up and down. Good luck happy driving! S70Houston

This is a great car but.......

I own this same car and have about the exact same mileage. My car is also in perfect condition and it runs unbelievable. Before this week, I would have told you to jump at the chance to get for $10K. Now however, I need to caution you about the lack of ability to get parts for the car. If a part breaks and MB no longer makes the part you will need to search for something aftermarket. For some parts this is not always that easy or not possible at all. That may make your vehicle obsolete. Trust me, I love this car. I got rid of many cars over the years to keep this but just recently I have had an issue where I cannot find a part. This may render my car DONE! I put up a thread recently to check with others about parts but you need to be aware that this is definitely a problem. Overall, the car is solid and I have had very little issues over the 20 yrs of ownership. And to boot, it is very, very quick and a blast to drive. If you can find ways past the parts issue, then I would tell you to jump at the deal.
