Anyone having problems finding parts?
Wanted to check with any other users who are having trouble finding parts for their cars. I have a 2002 C32 and recently the belt tensioner broke. The part is no longer available from Mercedes and there doesn't seem to be anything aftermarket. I only have 100K miles on my car and it is fantastic condition. Not being able to obtain this part makes my car no longer useable. Does anyone have a work around for this issue? I can't believe my car is done because of this. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Yes they are becoming obsolete. The front serpentine system is really the problem, as it is only on the m112k engine. Alternator, water pump, pulleys and tensioners are specific to this low production 20 plus year old engine.

Good to know. I am not so curious about C32 anymore. Parts for M113 in my C55 are plentiful and cheap.

vinmanc32, give me the partnumber and I´ll check over here. My MB part advisor can even check stocks
lying around different dealers warehouses and make inquiries. Could be worth a try? My neighbour has a SLK 32
and is probably not aware.

I have a power steering pump that is starting to leak. I work at a MB dealership and they cannot locate the oem replacement part. Our service department is beginning to screen out taking in certain vehicles that are aging because of the liability issue of fixing something on an old car. We have experienced the fresh parts pushing older marginal parts into failure. This is something the C32 community will have to contend with going forward.

Harmonic balancer, water pump, belt tensioner, power steering pump, a/c compressor are the hard mostly obsolete parts. That’s what is going to send these cars to the junk yard.
I wonder what is different between the non Amg parts and Amg ones. Can the A/C pulley be put onto a non Amg compressor? How about the water pump and steering pump? Or do they all have different offsets and stronger bearings for the supercharger?
I have a water pump that needs bearings and seal kit. Wonder where to get that so I can rebuild it?

Yes but those parts above are specific to the m112k, and nothing else. Those are the parts that are going to make m112k owners not able to drive these cars, and some of them are NLA. Consider them like the fenders on your car.

Looks like the regular e320 m112 pump with the oil cooler nipple may work, the difference that I can see is the left upper bolt hole that isn’t used on the c32 anyway. Worth a try for how cheap they are

I checked all dealers in this country. the part number is 1122001070. The listing that was sent is not the actual part. I called that one as well. Any suggestions are welcome. I am hoping that some mechanic has figured out a workaround for this.
