I hate how the side mirrors hold water

after a car wash that is... Even after the car is dry, the water continues to dribble out of them leaving water spots along car.... (you'll only notice if you have a dark C-class)...

I wash my car myself and use an air compressor to blow the excess water from the mirrors, body side molding, tailights, trunk area etc... All of the good hand wash shops here in Phoenix use compressors as well. Also important to use soft water, helps reduce spotting.

This problem doesn't happen in the S4 because there's no side mirror compartment for the water to pool in it... No big deal, but it can be annoying..

Its possible the Audi cannot generate enough velocity to force teh water from teh mirror housing.

I made sure it doesn't drip anymore before I leave the car alone.

I changed the screen name after I got the C55, I hit a curb with it and still waiting for it to be repaired. I haven't driven the C55 since Nov. 6, and probably won't get it back until the week after Thanksgiving. So that sucks, but if I knew how to drive I probably could have avoided the whole thing. I will be putting some 19"s on it though thats not much consolation.

I assume your thoroughly enjoying your option anxiety when faced with teh S4 and C55 every morning.

Just out of curiosity... How does your new 745Li handle compared to your old E500?

I love teh 745Li. Its much more engaging to drive than the E500. Its more responsive and crisp, the drivetrain is like butter, awesome brakes etc.. definetly a drivers' car when compared to the E-class. I prefer the C55 but am happy to drive either one. The content of the 7 is a bit weak, its on par with the loaded E500 but the NAV on the BMW is really poor and we both thought the interior of the E was better executed. We really liked the drive dynamic seats on the E but the seats in the 7 are crazy good too. My only real complaint is that we got a flat tire in the 7 on Saturday and the Tire Pressure Monitoring system never activated, apparently it was never "initialized" so I had to cough up $500 for a new set of tires. Other than that, it has 4K miles on it and no warranty issues or unplanned trips to the dealer. Stacy still prefers the Mercedes..... I actually considered trying to swap it out but it was cheaper to buy her a new diamond ring. You should learn these things now that you are married.

Hey Doug I'm glad to see you're really enjoying the 7-series.. There's no question that it's the only true driver's car in that league. Is it pretty loaded?.. because it surprises me that the content is weak. The new Maybachesque S-class is coming next year, so maybe you'll consider that later on. Unfortunately it's going to grow in size and weight, like the previous S-class 92'-99'.. Tell Stacey I said "Hi"

The car is loaded, 19"s premium pkg., convenience pkg., luxury seating, premium sound, sunshades, park distance. The only thing the E-class did not have was voice activation and an integrated phone which but even that was at least available in the Mercedes. I think they did a really good job with the E-class. I know Stacy will bail on the whole BMW idea to get back into a Mercedes and I don't blame her, but you are right in that its the only true drivers car in this class and its cool to actually enjoy driving a car this big and heavy, it "feels" more agile than the E. I offered to buy the S-class when she was looking at the E but she didn't want one. I know your busy but if you get a chance you should go drive a 7 just to check it out.

This alwatys happens to me. Even happened on my C230. I salm the doors a couple time after i wash it and even use a blower and it still drips down the side of the doors. I swaer i must wipe the door like 10 times before it stops driping. Sometime i guess it just keeps going sicne i go in the garage the next mourning and i see a water mark down the side of the car!

got to agree with benzo... leaf blower...

never had that issue since i purchased the trusty toro leaf blower. Best thing for washing a car since running water!

try it Eric you will be shocked. If you keep it well waxed the blower will do most the work for you!
