Pre-Painted bumper lense - what to do with bulb?

Pre-Painted bumper lense - what to do with bulb?
Those with painted bumper lenses, what did you do with the bulb? If you pull it out, wouldn't it set off a warning that the bulb is out?

'14 428i M-Sport, '02 C32 AMG
didn't do anything with the bulb. no light will shine through at all, as if you don't have a bulb there. plus, the fender wall prevents it from shining out the other way. i figured better not mess with the electornics. i have the Euro impact strips now and it is the same in the sense that no light shines throuhg either, but is just one piece. the evosport reflectors were great, simple, and cheap. no need to fuss with the light in my experience. just popped the reflector covers in 30 seconds and forgot about it.

this is OT so forgive me for hijacking
was supposed to get the brabus rims and eisenmann exhasut this afternoon. i had to cancel because my car's getting serviced for electrical problems. he said not to share the price but of course he gives a realistically good deal, though i think ask him directly because there's a difference b/t c230 and c32 exhausts in terms of what eisenmann stocks and needs to get rid of. the deal i got wasn't too drastic but nice enough to be appreciated. haha sorry for being so vague but he specifically told me not to share the price. i always work with him though. see you around.

I know what you are talking about, at night the light shines through the painted lens.
I just pulled the housing out and shoved it up behind the bumper and left the light in.
