Please don't make this mistake

Long story short, after a month of researching wheels for my C32 I settled on a set of CL65 replicas in 18 inch from spy. The wheels are the correct offset and the quy at spy said they would clear the front brakes. They don't clear the front brakes . The quy at spy sends me some cheap (but free) 5mm spacers and the wheels just clear, but there is a slight (unacceptable) vibration through the wheel. I figure a good set of spacers will fix the problem so I order them from H&R and they arrive three weeks later. I install them and the problem is MUCH WORSE. At the end of the day I ended up ordering a set of SSR GT3's from Luke and will sell the tireless cl replicas on this forum or on ebay for a substantial loss, but not to a C32 owner. Hope my experiance will help a forum member make a wheel decsion in the future without so much hassle and expence.

It happened to me also, You have to get a good set of hub centric spacers to get rid of the shake......

I bought H&R hubcentric spacers and the problem got worse. I think the problem is the largest part of the spindle is at the brake rotor and is only about 4mm deep. The spindle is plenty long, but decresses in radius.

Someone else on this forum has the same wheel (in a 19) and didn't report any problems. I hope they work out for you because they look great. The worst part of this (aside from the wasted time and money) is I like the look of the cl's better than the SSR's

Mine were not made by asa. Tire rack no longer has an asa application for the c32 and has no plans on bringing them back. The ones I have are generic. No company branding at all.

Guys just for your info, tirerack does still carry ASA's but not under C32, you need to go to 2005 model year, and look up C55.This is how i got mine,at the time C32 were 17 or 18's only.
The quality is fine, they are made by BBS.no vibrations, and they are considered lightweight wheels at 27lbs front, and 30lbs rear

TSW Bremmas are one of the best replicas of the CL65 style wheels. They fit the C32/C55 with no spacers.

ASA is not part of BBS, it is my understanding that BBS licensed its manufacturing process to ASA so that ASA's are constructed exactly like BBS wheels but are not actually part of BBS.

thats like saying old navy isn't the gap,or a infiniti isn't a nissan.if it has the same manufacturing technique or the same core, might as well be BBS,but yes understand it isn't,yet it some way it is.

I should have mine by the end of the week, honestly I will be very surprised if the appearance of the ASA's or the TSW's is close to the factory AMG wheels. FOr the guys who already have them, are tehy pretty high quality or are they noticeably lesser wheels??

BTW, what tires are you guys using?

the wheels look great from far ,or when driving, but if you are going to get down and examine them, then yes they are a lesser of a rim.You do get what you paid for. That is with anything in this world,as for the rubber i have toyo's 265-30-19's rear,235-35-19 front, but i do have a rubbing issue in the rear with 3 people in the back, and going or bumps with a #4 pad
