C55 in snow

Was fine this AM in Long Island 2-3 inches on ground, some ice. Have Blizzaks and 17" 203 AMG wheels 225/45/17. Drove like a charm.

As long as you have Blizzaks on virtually any car with sufficient ground clearance, you're fine... otherwise https://mbworld.org/forums/kill-stories/91739-classic-race-story.html

Me too>>>> I have had about 10 days of good snow/ice/crap and I couldn't be happier!!! Running same wheels (I wish the double spokes were this easy to clean) and Michelin PA2's 225/45/17.

Good to know. I got the 17" AMG double-spokes and Blizzak LM-25's but haven't 'exercized' them yet.

I tried posting a while back but the site had a restriction on resolution (800 x 600 max I think). The pics I took were 1024 x 768 and I couldn't find a way to reduce the resolution without losing a good chunk of the photo. Maybe I'll see about changing the camera resolution and snapping a few soon, if it ever warms up again.

I've been using the Michilin Pilot Alpin PA2 w/ 17" ASA ST-4 rims here in michigan since it started snowing. I've loved them so far. Since I do a lot of highway driving and our snow coverage on roads varys I picked these tires because of their ability to handle well at speed on dry conditions.

The rims are great cause they're cheap and are almost identical to the stock C55 rims in look.

I have PA2's on 203 wheels and thecar was perfect, with 2 mass pike runs to the airport yeaterday. I keep it in C mode, and seems to do great. the car is covered in crap. I would say the only thing that realy stinks about the car in snow is the windshield wipers. That and it was so cold last night my light cleaners were showering my lights, and the stuff was freezing on contact. lol

Heh Scott,

I was out in -30C yesterday and have been adding MB Winter wash to RainX winter fluid an everything stayed liquid without ANY freezing. I add about 1/4 liter to a full jug of washer fluid and away you go>>>>>
Don't you love the PA2's!?!?!?

Do you think it is the wipers themselves or more that the liquid was freezing? Anyone know if MB makes a winter blade? (BTW, I'm on the North shore).

Man, I certainly do not miss living in the snow, that's for sure! Where I'm at (Cali), it never snows! I've had my fair share of snow though, living in Chicago and visiting Minnesota a lot. I don't envy any of you...until you get to go skiing and snowboarding!

My local ASA rep warned me to stay away from the ST-4 beacuse they finish will pit when exposed to road salt.
