New Years Nightmare...

I am sharing this story only to share my pain...

My Wife gets home from work at about 11pm on New Years eve. We were supposed to go to my friend's party in Pompano Beach, but since it was late and the weather was bad, we decided to stay in. My neighbor was having a party (Older guy about 60). When my wife got home, his guests were in her parking spot. Being a gentleman, I moved my car so she could park in my spot.

We wake up in the morning and go outside to see my car was backed into by some drunk new years partier. My 2002 C32 was FLAWLESS, not one ding or scratch. Now I have a large scuff mark through the paint on my bumper.

Story #2:
When I purchased the car (about 14 months ago), it came with the Brabus Monoblocks VI. Not exactly my style, but when I found out how much they cost, I decided they were my new style. Each of the rims had some road rash. About 2 months ago, I take it to a shop and have the rims dis-assembled and change the lips from machine finish to pollish finish. It came out AMAZING. I also put on a new set of Toyo S1s... All my previous cars had Daytons on them. So I learned the hard way about curbs and rim care.

Last night I noticed from front driver side rim was missing a chunk of metal. I am very particular and just washed the car a week ago. No one has driven it except for Valets at Blue Martini in Ft. Lauderdale and Upper Deck Draft House in Hallandale. I am not sure which place did it, but I cannot begin to explain how angry I am.

Morals of both stories:
Do not move your car to let your wife park in it
Do not stay home on New Years
DO NOT USE VALET SERVICES - they do not appreciate cars like they should

I'll post pictures

YEP...
Better believe he got an early wake-up call to see it.

Its not about the money at all. I could easily get the bumper painted to $100... The problem is the agravation of not have the car for a few days and possible flaws in the paintjob (overspray, color differences, etc...)

I really like the guy, it is just a darn shame that it happened.

Used the Valet for my 3200GT at a restaurant/nightclub in Cannes last summer.
When I came out to get my car later, they had parked so close to a palmtree that the palm leaves (not very soft) were all over my trunk. It was full of small scratches, I was lucky that they came off after a paint treatment.

So I agree, valets are idiots.

jlara: Dude, like our old, impeached prez would say "I feel your pain".

I do not know how old you are, but this is called life. Get used to it. It will throw you a lot bigger curve ***** than this.

And PLEASE do not post pictures. All of us, at one time or another, dealt with this similar situations. We do not care to be reminded about them.

Nothing personal, just deal with it yourself and do not burden others.

This is a tech forum, not shrink forum. It makes all of us, C32/55 owners, look like cry-babies.

See, this is called a discussion. If you have to insult me by using above picture, than it becomes a childish, silly brawl.

He has his opinion, I have mine. Now, frankly I do not care about yours.

See, I do not use silly pictures and foul language.

I am 29... I officially grew up when I purchased this car...
My previous cars were all show trucks. I have always cared entirely too much about my vehicles. Two of them were featured in Lowrider Magazine. Once I got married, the lowriders went bye-bye.

I posted the story to vent and remind C32 or C55 owners not to Valet.

When I said I was posting pictures, I meant of the car in general. I can't say I wouldn't have thrown in a few ouch pictures...

My C32 is Obsidian Black, Flat Emblem, Brabus Monoblock VI wheels. I think it looks pretty good.

Also for the record, I really enjoy this forum and all the "types" of posts. Some have been extremely helpful.

Sorry to hear that. Hope you get it fixed soon. Probably the bad weather here in S. Florida was meant to be for you and your wife not to go out that night. It could of been worse. There were alot of drunk drivers that night.

Whenever you get it fixed we could meet up one day. I live in Pembroke Pines not too far from Hallandale Beach. I'm going to try to form a smal MB meet by next month or so.

Cars and boats!
LMAO @ BklynBenz!!!! This has got to be one of the funniest threads Ive come across. I, along with many other members here agree that we should have the freedom to share our experiences, whether they are misfortunes or good experiences. But hey, we all know who runs this forum so w/e, guess we have to deal with a limited freedom of speach... oh well!!

Anyways, Percy, im down for the meet, let me know and I'll make some phone calls!!!

If you don't like the message/pics click the 'back' button dude(s)

Everyone is entitled to post whatever they want,
the reader has the option of reading or leaving.

Post whatever you wish, I am a motor enthusiast, and
passionate about cars.
I too park way the f*ck out of the way in shopping mall/centers.
I use the california duster almost everytime b4 I drive.
I never drive with dust on my wheels (almost anyway).
I don't valet my car or if I do, I PAY to have it parked up FRONT!
I spend 4-5 hours to wash my car.
My car cost me over $75 large and it's *******g paid 4.
So, I don't mind hearing a fellow motor enthusiast languish
over some mishap over his car.
I too will be *****in and would surely share my ideas to avoid
this happening to anyone on this forum.
Let us know/show man, we empathize AND sympathize with you.
Afterall, that's what this forum is ALL ABOUT.

Wow, lol ...

It's actually a good thing he posted his story here, to remind everyone how to treat their car right. I mean come on .... this forum is so DEAD! A little something extra ain't bad. Go around other car forums, I'm sure you can find these kinds of posts in them.
This is life .. get used to it?? So if someone keys your car you would tell yourself "OH WELL .. THIS IS LIFE"

Well yes that is exactly what I would tell myself.

What should I do? Break down and cry? Its a car... metal and bolts. Sorry his car was hurt but I don't give it to people to park for a reason. And like what was said before have them put it by the door if you must valet. The 5 bucks is a wise investment.

When my E55 was keyed I took it down and got it re-painted. Rather simple!

When my 1990 500SL (first car in the USA Late 1989) was attacked with a bucket of bricks and baseball bats I drove it to the body shop and had the whole car re-painted. Can't change what has happened so why get all bent out of shape?
