Cleaning C32 Exhaust Pipes

I have tried several cleaners but I am not getting the carbon build up off my exhaust Tips...

Can I use a Brillo or SOS Pad? Is their a specific cleaner that really works for this?

I am tried Simple Green and Degreaser without much luck.

whoa, dont do that!!!! go get Mothers Metal Polish, its one of the best out there. You might want to go buy a clay bar first and clay the exhaust tips. I am sure that will get rid of the carbon deposits. THEN use the metal polish for some serious shine!

I am serious....I and may others have used it for years as a cleaner for chrome. First used it in Jamaica about 30 years ago to remove salt stains on our boat. It will make a well oxidized finish look like new.

Give it a try>>>>>

what ever works....you don't need alot. pour a bit on the lightly crumpled foil and wipe away, rinse and buff. The foil is just an added little abrasive, a brush of some kind will work as well.

After a very fun night in my c32 I pulled it in the garage and put the MB car cover on it and the cover melted to the tops of the tips and none of these methods have worked. I looked into having the tips replaced but they are welded on to the muffler. What should I do?

I would go at it gently with a blow torch to heat the area and wipe with a soft cloth a little bit at a time>>>>should work

I have successfully used bug and tar remover or wheel cleaner to clean the exhaust tips and then followed up with mothers metal polish, another product that works well on metal is Wichard Wichinox Stainless Steel Polish available through boat suppliers.

If you have a portable steamer that may work for removal of the melted cover I'd avoid anything as hot as a torch.

I used the finest steal wool and the Maquires Mag Polish. It came out INCRREDIBLE!

At the same time, I had to polish my wheel lips again. It didn't realize that I had the car hand washed, but they used some type of acid on my wheels that destroyed my polished lips. After about two hours, all was good as new!

I will post pics in a few days.

Thanks
