front headlights

The C55 fron headlights look more white and have a crystal look than the C32. I have done some research and ive discovered that the C55 has clear headlight glass.

Is it possible to get a clear glass headlight for the C32? The clear glass looks much better.

Sorry for the questions again.

Starting in 2005, all C's got clear halogen headlights. The picture you posted of the C55 headlights are bi-xenon, which have clear lenses regardless. The ones on the C32 pictured are halogen. C55 uses headlights from the CLK, while the C32 shares headlights with the rest of the C's (except the sportscoupe). If you want clear lights for your C32, you can either get bi-xenons or the new halogen headlights used on '05 C models. Forum member MBenzNL can supply both, so I recommend you PM or email him for more info.

Thanks for the great reply mate.

So if i get bi-xenon on the C32, will it look exactly like a C55? I thought that 04 cars has a different headlight that will not fit on pre-facelift cars?

Are there any pics of bi-xenon or halogen headlights on a C32?

No, the C32 and C55 have COMPLETELY different shaped headlights. You have to buy the bi-xenons that fit W203 chassis C32, C230 (sedan only), C240, and C320. I've never seen a C32 with the updated halogens, but I know for a fact that many members have the bi-xenons. Check the picture thread at the top of this section for MANY examples.

yes Blake P is right. pre-2005 / pre-facelift w203 c-class can have bixenons. they are clearer housings and much better optics than the normal halogens or xenons. they were not available in 2002 as an OEM option. they were, however, 2003-2004 OEM options for C-class and C32 AMG's as well.

my car is a 2002 C32 AMG. i had stock halogens, but upgraded to OEM bixenons, and now have 2005 foglights w/ matching 8000K HID lights all around. here are some older pictures of the car (without rims :p ), but they show the bixenons well i think. you can tell they are definitely clearer than the halogens.

the first pic was my stock c32 w/ stock halogens, and the pictures under it show my car w/ bixenons and some other mods, but not most recent.

You can make any W203 C-class 'exactly' look like a C32, but it is not very easy to make any C-class + C32 to be 'exactly' look like the C55.
As someone already mentioned, the C55 has a 'long nose' which means the whole front-end is 'copied' from a CLK not a C - which means the headlamps and the grill are identical to a CLK and not a C32.

However, I found many C32 mods here look 'very new' because they have installed many W203 facelift parts e.g. Wheels, Bi-Xenon.

Thanks KompressorKev. The bi-xenon headlights look so much better than stock. Also how have you changed the fogs? Is it just a clear lense?

Finally, how much did the complete setup cost?

i have been checking out pics of C32's with xenons at www.c32life.com

Why is the xenon headlights different on C32 life than the xenon lights on KompressorKevs C32?

C32uk - no problem

yes the fogs are 2005 OEM ones. they are for C320's because i got a Brabus front bumper which needs C320 foglights instead of C32 foglights. the 2005's are clearer, like bixenons to normal halogens. my lights were pretty expensive actually, i got bixenon headlights retrofitted plus 8000k d2s bulbs, install, 2005 foglights, 8000k hid kit...it racks up there. i will pm you with price breakdown.

btw, i do not see bixenon headlights on the C32life website frontpage, or under "general pictures". keep in mind that the normal "xenons" are different housing and look than "bixenons". the "xenon" housing looks like the normal halogen housings, as the first "stock" picture i posted. the "bixenons" are different altogether. perhaps this is an area of confusion, or i did not see the bixenon headlights on the C32life website?

Thanks KompressorKev. I understand now. So could you get bi-xenons on a C32?

I just want to get the clear headlights for the C32 for a reasonable price.

Do stock 05 models headlights look like a C32 with bi-xenons?

Sorry if its a dumb question.

? Isn't that what KompressorKev just said and showed on the pics ?
OK this is the recap.
05 models C55 = totally different shape of headlights than C32. No go !
Stock 05 C230SS, C240, C320 = clear halogen headlights, would fit C32.
03-04 Bixenon headlights = would fit C32, but $$$$

You want clear headlights on your C32 ? these are the options:
a. Stock 05 C230SS, C240, C320 halogen headlights.
or
b. 03-04 Bixenon headlights.

I hope that answers your question.
PS: Don't confuse Xenon and Bixenon. They are 2 different animals.

for 2002 c32 - only xenons were an option

for 2003-2004 c32 - bixenons were an option

so for 2002, there's no way to get the bixenon headlights unless you retrofit it.

the xenons and bixenons are very different. the xenon housing looks like normal halogen housing. the bixenon housing is altogether different. similar, yet different in shape to the 2005 c55 one you pictured.

I have a spare set of UK version clear lens halogens if budget is any constraint.

Bear in mind that you will need the UK version not the US version. So if you can afford the Bixenon then go for it. Just keep one thing clear. You wont have auto-levelling and the vacuum setting on your light switch wont work for level adjustment.
