Smart Keys and a good dealer to use

FOR YOUR 411:

For those needing a new Smartkey and valet insert. Local stealer, i.e. Brumos Motorcars wants $195 for one.

Sun Motor Cars in Pennsylvania will provide at reasonable rate. Speak with Chris at MB parts, he's straight up and will get you both for $129 including shipping. Be prepared to send copy and/or fax of D/L and proof of ownership.

Give him a call and let him know you saw him on the forum. I personally gleaned this info from another post on this forum. With dealerships like this, I'm happy to forward this info to my fellow forum members.

Key

Well 99SlverC43, It's the least they could do after you buy a car from them. I'm just a ******* child so no such courtesy. They quoted me $195 plus tax.

Keys

I did not put those asterisks in there...that would be "B" - "A" - "S" - "T" - "A" - "R" - "D" last I loooked that was not a dirty word for the love of God.

SmartKey

This photo has been shamelessly ripped off from the bay. This is identical to the key I obtained from sunmotorcars. Note the "panic" button repositioned to the insert portion of the key.

The new smartkey opens ALL doors with one push versus two of the old version.

Also, I wish people would research the fact that these keys CANNOT be reprogrammed. I obtained a smartkey on the bay only to replace my worn out case that I had.

I obtained a newer case, albeit not the newest version, and I swapped out the internals - a 2 minute job.
