That car is beautiful.

Granted, I love my 98', but man I would really enjoy that car especially with the updated tiptronic trans.

Good luck with the sale.

I was trying to be funny... still waiting for settlement from StateFarm. Do you think it's a total loss?

Wife was driving....no, it wasn't her fault, and a car jumped out in front of her, she did not even have time to apply brakes. Thankfully at fault driver was ticketed and has StateFarm Insurance, should get a fair settlement soon.

That damage looks pretty extensive...if you're looking at an MB-certified place might be....hard to tell though. What's the underneath look like - engine might be toast. Fortunately, the wife is safe! All safety equipement work as advertised????

Both rear wheels seem to be twisted on axle, both airbags deployed...very tough little car. The shop that I had the car towed to is A+++++ repair facility with Pro-Shop status....meaning they are actually allowed to write estimates for most major insurance companies.
To be quite honest, I would not mind if the car was repaired, it will be very hard to replace with another 2000 C43 in my car's condition.

Hope your wife is okay. Looks like it’s totaled to me, but keep us posted whether or not it’s repairable. Good luck.

You would not want to repair that and hope they total it.. Even repaired on the outside, the frame is still wacked. that car will never drive the same.

I agree it sounds like that the damage caused by the impact has completely displaced the entire drivetrain and more than likely totaled....dunno if you would be happy with it knowing it has sustained that level of damage. Plus, it will never be the same again.

That makes me queasy. Terrible news. That car was a beauty.

I crashed a C230komp W202 and they are great for crashing. I know that sounds stupid but they are. Glad there's now bodily harm.

sorry to hear, good thing wife is ok

car is repairable np, just a matter of insurance if they total it or not, either way you could deal with them and buy it back cheaper than you'd find it again at an salvage auction, and repair it afterwards
looks like high impact, frame might not even need to be straightened, what was the other vehicle involved?

Wow. Sorry to hear about your loss. I would take the insurance settlement and purchase a new model. By looking at it I would say that it would be very difficult to restore that car to its original, cared for condition. Not to mention that it would carry a "salvage title" for the remainder of its life.

sorry to hear about the car, and glad to hear the wife is ok.

question about the lowering springs: how was the ride using the stock shock absorbers?

your car looks/looked awesome with the H&R springs. i was told that lowering the car may void certain provisions of the starmark warranty. do you have any info and/or experience regarding that? ive been putting off lowering my car b/c of that.

thanks.

any mods you do to your car will void that particular portion of the starmark warranty, ie: you change out the stock springs to H&R springs...if you have a warranty issue with the suspension, they will tell you that since you used aftermarket springs, your "issue" will not be covered by the warranty. They can also go as far as telling you that NONE of your suspension will be covered by the Starmark warranty because of the aftermarket springs. You can avoid all this by putting the stock springs in before you bring the car into the stealership, if you ever have any issues w/ your suspension.

Is the engine and tranny still good? Do you know how much buy back would be? I am interested in purchasing the whole car for parts. Let me know?
