The owner is some guy named Josh from WI, I already spoke to him regarding his C55, sounds like a real nice car but the price seemed a bit high...I'm looking to replace my totaled 2000 C43.

none
Wonder if the 0-60 time was actually done or if it was an estimate.........4.7sec.

The power was stated as an estimated 380hp.

Not sure what these cars run stock, but I have seen 5.9 sec 0-60 on some sites which seems slow to me. With that said would an 80hp increase bring the 0-60 down more than a full second???

Badass car though...

now I wonder, I would assume that is 380 to the wheels? or crank cause if you are getting 293 carl, he ahs to be getting more right? and does anyone know what actually renntech mods were done, or did they just put the e55 engine in, and the updated diff? did they put in a 2.82? from the e55(I think it was 2.82 could be off)

just checking renntechs site, which has been updated, much to my dislike, they cut out w140 and r129 performance mods, stock for them on the e55 engine is 354, and you can upgrade renntech airbox and ecu for 20hp or s/c with ecu upgrade for an added 106, which would mean airbox gives 10, cause they sell ecu alone for an added 10, which unless he has rounded or has done other mods, that the site has listed, how does he get 380?, he also lists he has renntech headers, did they even make them? Or did he get kleeman headers?

Nice car, but unless it's 380hp to the wheels, he's dreaming on the price. It's approaching the price of a starmarked 2002 C32.

I don't see how it could be 380 to the wheels unless it was s/c, or it was bored and have had a ton of engine mods done (headers, cams, rods, intake, ecu, cats, pullies)

oops i was looking at the ebay bid, let me tell you guys something PEOPLE no matter what kind of mods you do your cars are old very old, no way you are getting over 22k for it, even if it is a 2000, unless some sucker buys it, or you put in 20k into the car you would get over 22k, listen if someone put a 5.4 engine and tranny from 01-02 e55 into it, then kompressor, and everything from kleeman and evosport, and speedybenz, and mbenznl then you would get 30k for it, sound system would have to be in there too, the way I like to look at it is think about the price you want for the car, cut it in half and that's what most people will give you for it, sry if this sounds jerk, but seriously 29k for a 6 year old car, you might be able to get a c55 for that price

I'd have to know what has been done with it, to give a correct current value

werd......22k is not unreasonable for an AMG 202 in perfect condition/low mileage. I would say that 29k is rather high though.....I would probably try and find a 01 or 02 e46 M3 instead. Hell, you could get one of the HPS C43's that have been up for sale for less than that. Unless he is making 380 whp (never saw any sort of confirmation about this), the HPS would be my choice. Either way, 30k is kind of the next plateau in terms of used cars.

I've never seen any good condition C55s for 30k, yet let alone 40k...

He's asking way too much. Just becuase renntech did the mods doesn't make teh value of the car any higher. I was asking only $24k for mine, but sold it for much less. And my new engine and tranny only has 17k miles on it. As much as I loved my car and thought the value was much more, I was realistic and set a fairly moddest asking price. Its rediculus that I also see stock C43s going for low 20s.... Alot of them have high milage too.... And then there is a guy on craigslist that's selling his "brabus" C43 for 22k... All that I can that has been done is brabus wheels and lowered, and a brabus badge on the back... My head hurts from seeing over zealous owners who value their cars more then the actual value of it

yeah Jeff is in the proccess of purchasing my car. He's just waiting for the insurance check from his last car. I had an asking price of $24k as you know, but being Jeff and a fellow club202 member I gave him the car for a good price. I don't really want to give out the actual number without Jeff's concent, for privacy issues. (PM me if you really want to know, Carl) I did get fairly close to what I was hoping for, but I also gave Jeff a few bonuses to sweeten the deal. I threw in my 4.3L motor thats sitting at Norm's shop and also gave him my HID's and Traffic Pro. I origionally wasn't gonna part with those. So hopefully Jeff will come by sometime this week and pick up the car. I'm gonna miss it, but at least I know its going to the best home possible.

Now onto my next project... turbo'd miata? or M3.

Turbo the M3. You'll love it more than the C43 with the 5.5L motor.

see at least you know you won't get your asking price and made it lower, its cool that jeff got the car, but as time goes on people need to realize that over 20k is just not going to happen for a high year low mileage c43, they ar ejust too old, way to old, especially when 204 comes out you'd be looking at 12k 2000 c280's and 17k 2000 c43's, at least that's what I think, the time frame being 2008 or whenever w204 amgs are out

...if we wait long enough, we might get the same price we paid for it @ auction. (but then again, we can't be driving it putting on all those miles either!)

Bro,unless your an authority or something on certain car sales, like the saying goes! "There's an *** for every seat"! I would not be surprised if someone spent 20k or just a lil bit more for a Clean 5.5L C43.Remember it's an AMG "C" class not just a regular MB"C" class, especially the one advertised on Ebay! You need to take into acct how much $$ it would cost you to do those same exact mods(motor and all those Renntech upgrades) plus the price of a donor C43.
