Exclamation Brake Rotor Source

I think this got lost in the mix, so to speak.....Who has a good source (price wise) for stock AMG rotors for 99-2000 C43's. I am interested in factory, OEM quality. OEM works good enough for me. Cheapest I have found is $229 PER rotor. If you have a source please post for everyone's edification...thank you in advance.

The sponsor FrankW will probably help us, here is what he said: "front rotors and pads cost around $300, not $900"

Hi Staple! How are you doing? I've been away for a while
i'd be eventualy interested too. i'm still under 65K and i only put around 5K a year on it, so i might be a year or two away from it, or maybe not.
i just dropped big bucks on a set of wheels, so i can't drop half a grand more on rotors right this moment, but if the price was right . . .
these things will probably not get any cheaper with time, probably the other way around

thanks for your relentless search though! we need guys like you here
229 per rotor is far better than what i've seen so far but i'm not ready yet given no immediate need.
if you locate a pair of OEMs at 300 or so i'd get them right away . . .

Yep no problem...good to see you're still alive! As always, I solicit and look into these exactly for that reason, I don't foresee them getting cheaper anytime soon. Thus, when and if I do find a bargain, I'll purchase a set for "that day" - of course, when I do find that "source" I'll share, as always!

Staplegun is GODSENT to me. He lives close to me, and he gave me lots of advices. I am lucky to have him near me.

I just looked all over the net, and it is funny that %95 of sellers have it for $268.02. What a coincidence! Did they all get together and agree on same price?

I am still waiting for a response from FrankW, cause he is the one that said front brakes were around $300. We'll see.

If I find them exceptionally cheap, I will definetely share too. Not only brakes any part....

MBCA members receive discounts at participating dealerships. You may wish to contact some parts places in the back of The Star magazine to see if a better price could be found.

Good luck.

You're not going to find OE rotors for less, most likely, unless you have a connection and can get the parts at dealer cost. If you need them, you may as well snap up a set (or two).

Something about getting those rotors off ebay doesn't sit well with me. For $23 more a rotor I can get them from a reputable tuner. Don't get me wrong, I got my Zimmerman X-drilled rotors for my A4 off ebay, but there is a big cost difference in the 2 cars.

If you can get this together, please let me know as I would consider getting a set of pads and rotors.

I'm looking to buy within the next 3 weeks or so. How many would be in on a group buy. I was planning on purchasing from PureMS, I can check with them if they would do a group buy.

I personally know the guy selling those rotors. I can totally vouche for him. I am not to sure what dealer cost is, but more than likely this price is close to the best for OEM.

Well, Staplegun said, watch out for shipping charges. If you pay this much for brake rotors, shipping must be free. At least it's free for other sellers...

rears are not a problem on C43, they are affordable. fronts are difficult to find at a reasonable price.

Just ordered OEM front rotors and Mintex Red Box pads from Pure Motor Sports for $581.

Hi David,
Thanks for thinking of us with your Mercedes!

Disc retaining bolt - $0.95ea x 4 (only needed if factory bolts are stripped or badly corroded).

All parts are in stock.

I don't think that you are going to find rotors cheaper than the ones on Ebay for $230/per. You'll be paying $$ for pads too if you are determined to use OEM. The biggest cost savings comes from switching to aftermarket pads.

Well... i guess no one was able to find the cheaper rotors. My brake light is on, so I am taking the car to the shop for brake job on Monday. I am hoping rotors can last for another few months, so I can buy more time to find cheaper rotors for a DIY, otherwise I am bending over for about $900.

good to know at least your brake light is functional. I gotta get some different pads, just spend 15 minutes getting all the black crap out of the front rims.
