Got a baseline dyno today....looks good.

Finally got the car back from the body shop last weekend. Also, I bought a code scanner, some CRC MAF cleaner, some magnecore wires, and some new NGK plugs. Ran a couple P01... codes indicating fuel trim issues on both banks. Did the above and cleared the codes...they haven't come back and the car has been running excellent. The magnecores are awesome. I forgot how snappy the car can be when driven around town My ESP blinks all the time again!! The car is a 98 with 50,000 on it.

So now that the car is running at 100% again I'm ready to take on the next step: HPS gen 1 S/C.

I got a baseline dyno today for obvious reasons. I don't really count things like wires, plugs, and filters as hp/tq mods. So I would say the car is stock.

Best Pull: 235HP / 243TQ as SAE

Those seem pretty good condsidering around 20ish percent drivtrain loss. Can't wait to see what the gains are gonna be! It was very consistant on the dyno within 2hp / 3tq each run, it was also very very humid today......

Even after a 20% conversion, the motor would be producing 282 hp, a good 20 shy of the factory rating. Perhaps the humidity is responsible for this. The HPS supercharger sounds fun, good luck with that.

That graph seems about right with what others have measured. Let's not forget the 302hp factory measurement is most likely w/o full auxilliaries, stock in-car intake and exhaust on the engine.

Sweet! I'm dying to know how this works out. Too many reported probs with the Gen II for my taste, but there seem to be a fair number of success stories from people going Gen I and not tweaking it.
I wish you lived closer - I'd offer tools, spare hands and beer to get a glimpse into the process.

Those nubmers look good. I would guess the tranny loss is closer to 22%. Your car is going to monster with the blower. I think you should be able to get 330whp with proper FMU tunning and tweeking the pully a bit. Maybe only going down a 1/4" off the diameter of the pulley. To bad we can't race against each other "damn 3000 miles away"
Good luck

Cannon Ball Run Mario...we can race from NH to CA. Who ever gets where first gets to live there.

As of yesterday I think I've found a knowledgable shop to pair up with for this prodject. My plans for the moment are to get this thing installed as soon as possible to see where I'm at with the regular HPS settings. I'm hoping to get 310-320HP at the wheels with this.

For the next step, most likely when the gar goes into storage for winter. I was going to send out the intake/discharge piping to be extrudehoned so the interiors are smooth. I was also going to shave down the pulley to 2.25 rather than 2.625. Lastly I was going to send out the blower to be ported and polished. Mustangs and Lightnings have had alot of luck with the port and polish....It should be interesting.

#'s are dead on.When TumpC43 and Curtis both had their cars tested, those same exact #'s were dead on.Tump's car had more area under the curve than Curtis's car because he had exhaust and pullies.I think his HP # was like 2 hp higher as well as TQ compared to Curtis's stck C43.

Thats really good to know. Thanks for the info. I guess I won't be spending any $$ on an underdrive pulley set though....
