This forum is a bit slow my friend. If those videos where shot in the daylight it would look alot better. It's kinda hard to see whats going on. Good effort though. You don't see people doing much with the W202 AMGs. I appreciate you keeping it alive!

Well said!

In my opinion, most of us love to drive them, enjoy them, not trash them by pushing the car's limits, so we can drive them longer and with less maintenance...

Assuming I'm interpreting it correctly, I agree with your point entirely. If I wanted to chug around at 2/3rds the AMG's potential, I would have bought a C320 or C230. It's nice to HAVE the potential, but it's also fun to USE that potential.

I would never street-race, and therefore to enjoy my AMG, I go to on-track events and run the car at 100% of its potential under controlled environments. Will it break sooner or burn out faster? I don't know, but if you don't enjoy the car's potential, then you're wasting your money.

One thing I can bet on here: No one, and I mean NO ONE will ever admit they burn their engine down (or any other damage) while racing (or after racing), or after turning their cars into Frankestein.

I cannot be any more clear on that.

Of course it will, ask any mechanic. It's not a rocket science...

That doesn't mean I drive like a grandma, I just had a lot of fun with a new 745IL on I-95... We both did 115mph till he/or she quit... I don't like people passing me on highway that's all

Reminds me of a friend who visually recoiled when I ran my car up to its redline (prior car). He asserted that it was "bad for the engine" to run up to redline. I pointed out that if it was bad, the redline would be set lower, where it was not bad!

I've driven my past 3 cars at on-track events, and never had a breakdown during or shortly after. Arguably, it would not last as long, but I'll bet my summer highway commute is more stressful than 40 minutes on the track.

To each his own. I never set my stereo volume at "10" out of "10" because it's not enjoyable. But I really enjoy driving at 10/10ths.

I have to disagree. I've burned up numerous jet ski motors racking them. They were race skis, so it was part of the cost of racing. Not unlike how the motors in top fuel drag race vehicles are rebuilt after nearly every run.
I've also seen friends burn up motors by throwing rods, spinning bearings, snapping belts, etc. after pushing just a little too far for the extra .1 of a second. None of them have denied the culprit The worst one was my buddy who went just a little too lean on his newly supercharged E55. His car was running wildly fast - just before it broke. My old skis were the same way. They'd rocket for a few seconds before meltdown due to the pistons getting hot and expanding, raising the compression gradually until the rings would melt into the cylinder. Ahh the good old days...
