im thinking of getting the eibachs since they don't "slam" the car, i still need it conservative yet minimize the wheel gap a bit, i'd really like to see pix of cars w/ the stock pads dropped on either eibach or H&Rs. thanks in advance.

Here is mine with Votgland/Koni's and #4 pads:
#5
H&R springs w/ bilistein shocks.
#3 pads in the front and #4 in the rear.
Stock 17" rims w/ 225/45/17, and 245/40/17
IMO perfect setup perfect height. I didn't have to worry about scrapping too much, except when I backed out of a parking spot and it ripped my bumper off

First off... ...thanks for posting the great photos. Beautiful cars!
I'm in the same boat (looking just to lower the car a bit)
The H&R's look great. On a previous car ('97 Prelude SH) I had the H&R Race Sprins with a 2 1/4" drop. I loved them versus the stock springs but my concern is that the H&R's would not perform as well as the stock AMG product.
Please convience me otherwise so I can just buy them and get rid of this horrible gap.
;-)

Should I ? ... OK, I will. Click Me It's really not fair. But, anyway...
Oh, and you can click my sig for some pix when the car was a few inches lower then it should have been.
But one word of advise. As the speedbenz custom suspension I run is totally adjustable, I can assure you from experience when the car was at different heights, if you care at all about handling, you -want- a finger gap from the top of the tire to bottom of the fender line. The suspension just does not work well much lower then that.

H&R's suck if you use them with the 18" mono's. I also have #4 pads. Results= smashed drivers fender well. Plenty of rubbing and sagging. Going back to original stockers with 1 AMG coil spring cut. AMG euro style.

What 25-40lbs lbs more? If that! H&R's just suck when using 18's .The black car in my sig had them with the 4.3 and my friends C36 Turbo had them and we've had nothing but rubbing problems etc.And the C36 has a heavier motor than mine stck.

Thanks, Nitrobalance!
The car rides surprisingly well for how low it is. It's just really stiff feeling. Takes bumps like a champ though! I have had some people in the back seat with no complaints. The front tires rub a little at close to full lock. 18 x 8's 225/40/18 ES100.

How's it going? I don't plan to keep this setup since It wasn't mine originally. But, I am going to try those pads to see if they help. The biggest problem I have with this drop is the negative camber. Sucks for tires. Let me know when you're ready to do the job. Maybe i'm local enough to come help out.

Any idea what pads those are? Most of the C43's I've seen came with the "#4" pads, but a buddy of mine recently picked one up in AZ with allegedly stock pads in the "#1" variety. With stock springs I don't think the variation is all that significant, but once lowered 1/4" can be the difference between rubbing and not rubbing. I'm actually tempted to try something smaller than my 4's to see how it would sit. I've done this so many times now I think I could swap pads on all four corners in under 15 minutes

So far, I was leaning toward the H&R with Bilstein shocks.
I am going to keep the stock 17's.
I definitely don't want to rub EVER, and would like the quality of the ride to be as good if not better than stock.
Would the H&R / Bilstein be a good setup for this or is it going to be extremly low and stiff?
It might be the 18's, but some of the photos now have me concerned that this might be too much for me....
Advice please...

H&R's (the lower part number), #2's pads up front, not sure what pads for rear.
