okay, im ready to lower the car, i need pix of your setup
Here is mine with Votgland/Koni's and #4 pads:
#3 pads in the front and #4 in the rear.
Stock 17" rims w/ 225/45/17, and 245/40/17
IMO perfect setup perfect height. I didn't have to worry about scrapping too much, except when I backed out of a parking spot and it ripped my bumper off
I'm in the same boat (looking just to lower the car a bit)
The H&R's look great. On a previous car ('97 Prelude SH) I had the H&R Race Sprins with a 2 1/4" drop. I loved them versus the stock springs but my concern is that the H&R's would not perform as well as the stock AMG product.
Please convience me otherwise so I can just buy them and get rid of this horrible gap.
;-)
It's really not fair. But, anyway...
Oh, and you can click my sig for some pix when the car was a few inches lower then it should have been.
But one word of advise. As the speedbenz custom suspension I run is totally adjustable, I can assure you from experience when the car was at different heights, if you care at all about handling, you -want- a finger gap from the top of the tire to bottom of the fender line. The suspension just does not work well much lower then that.

The car rides surprisingly well for how low it is. It's just really stiff feeling. Takes bumps like a champ though! I have had some people in the back seat with no complaints. The front tires rub a little at close to full lock. 18 x 8's 225/40/18 ES100.
I am going to keep the stock 17's.
I definitely don't want to rub EVER, and would like the quality of the ride to be as good if not better than stock.
Would the H&R / Bilstein be a good setup for this or is it going to be extremly low and stiff?
It might be the 18's, but some of the photos now have me concerned that this might be too much for me....
Advice please...
hey thanks for the offer, but i work at a independent mercedes shop, you let me know if u need any help

H&R's (the lower part number), #2's pads up front, not sure what pads for rear.

Looks like i'll be heading your way soon.
