Hi everyone -- new owner
I wanted to post and introduce myself to the community, as I just purchased a '99 C43 about two weeks ago. I've lurked on here for a while and found your advice particularly useful when I went to purchase the car.
Coming from an '01 GTI VR6, the C43 is a different beast altogether, but a beast it is! This car has all the elements I was looking for; powerful engine, superb handling, and a comfortable ride.
My purchase of this makes me the 5th member in my family to own a W202 C-Class. My father has a very long history with MB's and I grew up around them, so migrating to them from the VW was a natural evolution. I'm not regretting it so far as I'm loving this car!
It's a '99 and has about 34,700 on the clock since I got it. The car is in great shape. The pneumatic side bolsters weren't working when I purchased it, but that was a 5 minute fix when we opened the back of the seat and saw a disconnected air line! Now they work perfectly and man, can they pinch you.
No plans to mod it beyond AMG Euro springs (if I can still get those) and possibly 18" Monoblocks from the E55.
Anyway--thanks for the great advice and I'm happy to become a member of this forum.
Here is the car after a full claybar, Mequiar's #2 and #9, and Harley carnauba wax. And a pic of my GTI, which is for sale now.

You know most people in this spesific forum (%85) own C43, it is very obvious that you are sore from something.
What is it dear sir?
(I am polite cause, people accused me of being "terrible guy")
What comes to comparing C43 AMG and M3: M3 is an expensive boy-racer car, while AMG is a car for gentlemen - stylish and powerful. It isn't in your face all the time like M3 but when the gas pedal is floored, it gets the attention it deserves.
back on topic, very nice example you have found! The low mileage is very impressive....take care of her.

Now I plan on keeping the car forever as my first "really fast car". It's a very different car at this point, and I have hopes of improving that too. A. It will be the first in my hopes of a fast car collection.
B. It will continue to be my only fast car collection.
......most likely B.
It is by far the perfect car for myself.
I just enjoy the hell outta my C43 since I've installed the 5.5L motor and b4 with the 4.3L.
